hi all, I've put my son on the blood type diet and he's a type O..he has an inflammatory condition called esinophilliac esophigitis and I've been feeding him lamb, chicken and rice and veg only ..my question is how much lamb should he be consuming a day as I know it's acidic and i dont.  want to aggravate his condition further ..,it's hard to organize meatless meals for him as he is a very picky eater. I use lean lamb steaks or lamb mince and add peas and carrots and sometimes potatoes and serve with plain white rice. We have cut out all wheat, dairy, soy etc to see how he goes. Can red meat be too much for type O? Thanks and also, any suggestions for meals for him from type Os? What do you eat? A days sample would be appreciated.

you may also wish to eliminate the potatoes completely if he has an inflammitory condition. potatoes are bad for Os in general, but specifically because they cause inflammation... substitute sweet potatoes instead.

Thanks al, yes I've replaced the potatoes with sweet ones and he seems to like them..also I make a lamb broth and fed him it like soup , I also make chicken broth ..and add the broth to rice

The vegetable okra has a mucilaginous texture and is quite soothing for inflamed tissue.

Slippery elm bark can be added to smoothies, this too has the properties of okra, tastes a bit like maple flavour and is nourishing.

Soaked almonds blended into a smoothie relieves acid reflux as well and provides a storehouse of nutrition.

Beef and bufffalo meat should be the main staple in your son's diet.  The other meats used to compliment the meat portion of his diet.  Corn should also be avoided with the others listed.

Try some basmati instead of the white rice.  It is a higher level of rice.  

How does he do with turkey?  I would rather go with that instead of the chicken for his poultry portions.

Work with LR4YT and try to fit in a many of the beneficial foods that will work for him.  When on a restricted diet, beneficials will do the most good for healing.  Hopefully sufficient richly colored vegetable will be part of his program.

This might be one of those times when attention to food combining principles would be helpful.  Such as keeping fruit away from other foods (particularly starches and sugars)  But I hope he is not eating any sugar anyway.

Hi victoria, oh yes, we only eat basmati rice here and he likes it and he isn't eating anything sugary, I've noticed his gums don't bleed anymore since he stopped that horrible medicated milk. I'm making him hash browns using sweet potatoes and grated onions only

Are you open to liquid protein?

D'Adamo sells an egg-based protein shake.

I personally use the plain flavored Sun Warrior protein. Which is bio-fermented brown rice. Non-acid forming and over 98% protein assimilation and TONS of amino acids.

But if your son is picky then this may not be the best route.

Being a singer I use Thayers Slippery Elm Lozenges - the maple syrup flavored one.  

I have kind of gotten hooked on them as a sweet treat!  Each little lozenge is only 3.0 calories!  If i eat the entire box I only have indulged in 126 calories with some great benies for my tummy and digestion to boot!

my gut seems to have gotten better and my throat after singing really likes these little gems.

I make hash browns from one medium finely chopped onions, 1# diced turnips and 1/2# diced parsnips and 2 - 3 oz. finely chopped no nitrate turkey bacon.  I put the onions in the pan first, add about 2 tsp. ghee or walnut oil, about 3 Tbsp. veggie or chicken broth, cover and cook for 3 minutes.  Then top the onions with the other ingredients, add a little more broth (not much), cover, watch so it doesn't burn.  The little bit of broth helps steam the veggies and makes them cook faster.  When the veggies are tender you can turn up the heat , stir and brown the mixture a bit if you wish.  We like a little "brown on the edges" for hash browns.

I have served these hash browns to company and everyone totally raves about how delicious they were.  AND I didn't tell them they weren't potatoes either until after they ate them.


Almost 6 years on ER BTD, went from sick and dying to healthier And 30 pounds slimmer.  

Dec 30 2013: Just started Swami Xpress - after fine tuning the information, it shows 48% Explorer and gave me a hybridized Explorer/BTD list. A new adventure for this old lady!
