Might just be an individual thing, give it a few months then try it again and see.
Intolerances often clear up after a healing period.

If I eat a lot of pineapple, it kinda burns the inside of my lips.

I put 1/2 cup of Lakewood Pineapple Juice in my smoothie, with 1/2 cup of water.  I do very well with it diluted like this.

My daughter has this problem too.  I wonder what's up with that.  She's a B.  She has had her lips swell up a little from it.  I find that it happens more if I missed a little of the skin, or if there is anything brown on it.  But if there isn't any brown, she does better.

But yeah, it's strange.  I love pineapple and don't have the same problem.  But I think my son has this too, and he's an A.

I have no problem with pineapple, as long as I don t overdo the amount....
this is the reason why pineapple juice has a higher rating than the fruit....

no sores when drinking the juice, and stay within the daily servings

Greetings all:

Pineapple is a superfood for me and I eat fresh pineapple almost every day for breakfast.

Years ago, before BTD or GTD existed, I discovered that I could not eat canned pineapple or pineapple juice from a can  . . . I just could not digest it and would experience the taste for days.

I presume that pasteurizing the fruit or juice changed it chemically . . .

Perhaps the source/type of your pineapple is the issue.

Good luck with your explorations.

Maja.

The bromelain in pineapples can cause problems with my skin.  I wear protective gloves to keep the juice off my skin when preparing whole pineapples.

I drink a small glass of Pineapple juice every day - maybe you should drink the juice instead of eat the fruit?

I don't do too well on the canned stuff either.  I took a trip last year and had a 6 pack to drink.  Those small dole ones.  And one day after I drank one in the morning, my stomach was all upset.

As far as the swollen lips and stuff, it happens to my daughter with the fresh stuff.  Not the canned stuff.  Frozen is fine.  Which I think means some of the bromelain or enzymes are not as strong.  Frozen doesn't digest as well for me either.

I had problems with my lips burning in the beginning.  I was eating more canned pineapple then, but a lot of fresh, too.  I haven't had that for over a year now.  I only eat fresh or drink Lakewood brand pineapple juice.

Bromelain, an enzyme from pineapple stems.......those spores left on the pineapple flesh is what susceptible people react to......not the stems per se

I remember when I was taking anti-depressants many years ago the Dr told me to not drink pineapple juice or eat pineapples as it affects the medication, didn't know what he meant? could it be the bromelain?
At the same time, a freind recently had rhinoplasty and was told to drink pineapple juice to help with wound healing and lessen the swelling of her nose

Thanks for the information
I have problems with both the fresh Pineapple.
Drinking pineapple juice that comes in tins/plastic bottles.
I think I will leave Pineapple alone for the time being......
I have some healing to do - will try again - later.
My knuckles are still dry and I haven't had Pineapple for nearly a week.

I don’t like pineapple juice but my son drinks it when he performs.  He is the lead singer in a local band.  He drinks it out of a glass bottle not plastic.  HFS or WF has it that way.  I get my pineapple from bromelain.

I juice my own pineapple twice weekly now. I love it!!!  Pineapple is one of my favorite fruits and I love the juice.  I don't have a problem with sores or anything like what has been discussed.

I use to have a problem with my sugar dropping after eating it or drinking the juice.  However, since Dr. D'Adamo had me start drinking membrane fluidizers every morning using my favorite compliant juice (which happens to be pineapple juice) I don't have a problem with my sugar dropping anymore.

I thought the weirdest thing happened to me on Friday.  I had my membrane fluidizer that morning made with pineapple juice and cranberry juice and started getting the mad shakes an hour later, sugar dropping terribly.  It wasn't until I got it under control that I realized I had forgotten the flaxseed oil in my drink. I won't do that again.

I suggest drinking pineapple juice through a straw as the enzymes can cause damage to enamel

Same here when I eat the fresh fruit.  I put up with it because I "love" pineapple.

DenverF, RedLilac indicates that instead of eating the fresh fruit or drinking the juice, she has the bromalain supp from the store (Bromalain being extracted from pineapples)
