They were pretty good and I don't seem to be having any side affects.  First time I've eaten them so you never know.  They kind of taste and feel like a meat of some sort.  I did need to give them some salt and even a tad bit of honey to make the taste real good.

Honey?  Well, that's interesting.

I put ghee, salt, spinach, oregano, onions, garlic, a tad of rosemary and some cilantro.

Lentil soup is great with fresh lemon slices and a squeeze of lemon juice.

When I remember to use the carob it's usually w/ a sweet potato dish, mole style. Works. The fava's have been used either in a hummus-style or Persian style dish. Haven't used many Dahl type beans lately.

Thanks for the heads-up on the verde!

ABNW, did you use green lentils?  Once you learn to love them, try the brown ones, the red ones, and the black ones.  I've only recently found black ones.  They taste a little more like dirt, but still beneficial!  I like the red ones with plenty of garlic and turmeric.

I used to love adding red lentils to my pumpkin soup!  I can still do it for the A's in the house I guess.  Hmm..  I wonder what I can replace them with for the O's?

I couldn't find green, and I don't think these ones were red.  They were the brown ones like you're saying.

So green are better?  I find that I felt about the same as I do when I eat any beans at this point.  A little like it's going through me a hair too quick.  But not terrible.

lentils (all)are black dot for gatherers, so I presume there s not a great difference between the different types.

it s simply a personal issue if you can tolerate them or not, no matter which color.

I saw some at the grocery store today but passed.  I have some white beans I have to cook first.  I don't eat very many beans.  I should try more.

Beans fit real nicely into the budget.     We've started eating meat only one meal a day and filling in with beans the other meal.  I can't eat beans (gives the babay unbelieveable gas), so I eat lentils or black-eye peas.
