As a A - I suffer with this problem a lot. I think some of it has to do with my IBS which is most of the time constipation. But is is alway one extreme or the other. It is hard to stay normal.

I do my best to follow the diet but it is hard sometime. I would love to find an all natural fiber to supplement my diet and keep me stable.

Prunes or any fruit you can have may help.  Especially something with lots of fiber like, like, Peaches or something.  Nectarines.  Even apples or apple juice.  But all that has a lot of sugar.  But in moderation it's fine.

Of course lots of vegetables would help too, I would think.  Practically any vegetable.  Carrots, lettuce, onions, garlic, on and on.

Also, did you try having someone rub your feet?  I know it sounds strange but it's what helped my son when he was younger alot.  He's an A also.

Yeah, beans should do it, Chammomile and Ginger tea.  Ginger anything.  Chop some ginger up and put it in your veggies or something.  Sprinkle it in your oatmeal.  Hey, I've never tried that.  I think I'll do that.  Taught myself something.  hehehehhehe.

Most mornings I make a super smoothie which includes 1/2 carrot, handful of baby spinach, frozen strawberries, pineapple, peaches, dark cherries, wild blueberries, pumpkin seeds, almonds, spoon  of ground flaxseed, spoon of brown rice protein powder, pomegranate juice, aloe juice, and soy yogurt. Hope I didn't forget anything. I put this in my Vitamix and mix it into a smoothie.

If I don't have a smoothie then I eat my granola oat berry cereal which is high in fiber. Then for dinner I may have black bean soup. I don't eat dairy or red meat which are rough on the digestive system for A's so I am not sure what else I can do to add more fiber to my diet. Other than an all natural fiber supplement I am just not sure what else to do.

I got to thinking about this thread when I was getting dressed this morning.  I remembered I figured out a few months ago that when I eat too much turkey my bowels get sluggish.  So I keep turkey to only a couple of times a week.

I just can't say enough about (or agree more) taking magnesium if you're constipated. One has to remember, calcium contracts, magnesium relaxes. There are muscles in the intestines too. If you don't have enough magnesium to relax those muscles, problems can start. Very true for me, unfortunately.

How long have you been doing this?  I wouldn't think that this would stop you up, but that sure is a LOT of stuff in one meal.  For example, I don't think blueberries help you loosen your stool.  Although mixed with all that other stuff, you wouldn't think it would matter.  If this is a new regiment for you though, it could be something in there.  Also, for me, I don't think oats make anything move any quicker.  I don't really have the problem you are having, but grains of any type seem to help slow me down a little.  I usually have the opposite problem.  Goes through me a little too quickly sometimes.  But I eat alot of veggies.

Anyways, something to think about.  I start looking at the  foods, or anything I'm eating if something isn't right.  With that many foods in one meal like your smoothie, I don't know how you would know if something is messing with you.  Weird thing is, sometimes you could eat something for a while and then all of a sudden, it doesn't work for you.

you might be able to do that from your browser. select favorites and save it in there. that's on IE.  on Mozilla it's called something else. don't have that on this puter tho. it should save it for a long time that way.

Just gave this suggestion a try..........took me right to it. don't know how long it will work, tho I do know when we were able to request being notified of a new post, those were there for 2 or 3 years sometimes. searching from the Search option up top or the front page, doesn't do the same job.

For some of us, dairy slows us down, so milk may not be a cure.
For others, they get the runs.
Lots of fruits & veggies help. Beans don't really work for me altho they do for most others. If I have beans mixed with brown rice, it's fine. Maybe the beans are sticking to my bowel somehow. Who knows???
