Also Sante J today wrote in her blog the smarter and/or younger doctors are more aware of the food/ disease/ blood type connection. I always wondered why the psichiatric literature and quotes on disease, BT and neuroreceptors is not extensively used  in their practice by most psychiatrists and psycologists. Those papers and research quoted by dr D have been understood in their deep importance only by Dr D, perhaps because of laziness or ignorance.
I have read a book of two psichiatrist of the Veteran administration, in which experimenting a gluten and dairy free diet lead to no symptoms at all for schisophrenics and the free diet brought them back to their disease and quickly.  I hope this research will be reevaluated and will become a good help for mental illnesses, as for body diseases (celiac one is often not diagnosed still today!)

Congratulations Dr D, but we had guessed  that the BTD would have been the best approach for this lady and her children, as we know and are grateful and happy for your work !

My daughter is currently working with behavioral therapists as an aide.  They deal with young autistic children to help them in more mainstream environments, like preschool.....I talk to her
about the "diet" to help these kids, but she says the BT's don't think it's helpful....such strong opinions....I loved reading that thread.  I do believe that it can help immensely.   I also have a schizophrenic brother who I think could be helped, but talking diet with him and my family hasn't gotten anywhere.  Thank God for those who are open to it!

Dr.D

Could you please explain in layman's terms why the BTD might work for a child with
autism.

I'm anticipating having to explain this to someone in the near future and would love to know
exactly how to express myself without making it appear too complicated for someone to understand me.

Thanks in advance~

Our brush with the autistic spectrum was with my third child, a son.

He was a bit too placid at birth IYKWIM and started developing problems at about 18 months old.  By the time he was 4 he was food phobic (krispies and milk for breakfast, ham sandwich on white bread, absolutely no crust, cut in squares not triangles, the same plate lunchtime, a yoghurt and sometimes an apple as long as no peel and no blemish. Tea was a quorn burger with all the coating removed and sometimes mashed potato. No veg, and if a pea touched the plate nothing would get eaten).  He was light sensitive (avoided going out and wouldn't go out of the house without a specific peaked cap), water phobic, lining toys up etc, and he developed speech problems.  He wasn't, and isn't, vaccinated, and I think that had he been he would possibly be severely autistic.

I was a vegetarian for 10 years before he was born, (not good for an O, ) I was in a highly stressful job during pregnancy, and I think he was born with adrenal fatigue (probably supporting my adrenals during pregnancy).  Whilst he was being breast fed he blossomed, (I breastfed for a year) but it was (in hindsight) when he started brushing his teeth with a children's fluoride toothpaste that things started to go really wrong, but it was so slow we just didn't make any connection .... He presumably started to accumulate fluoride, which particularly affects the pineal, and his food issues were probably his mind knowing at some level that he was being poisoned via the mouth, so he would only eat "safe" foods.

He used to get occasional gut problems, and it was during one of these episodes that I realised that no matter how bad he felt, he still "needed" to clean his teeth.  So I checked out the ingredients and found information on an anti fluoride site ....  within a couple of days of changing his toothpaste he suddenly announced he was going outside to play.... and off he went round the garden, without the hat ....

I watched him out of the window and sobbed ... Within a few days he relaxed his food choices of his own accord ... and before long was eating the most variety of the whole family. He just left the peas... When we went on holiday to Spain he asked to try squid ... another cherished moment ....

To start with, fluoride was the root of all evil  but then I realised that my other 2 children didn't have the same problems with fluoride, that there was something else involved.  I found out about adrenal fatigue during pregnancy and thought it was that, and then a couple of years ago I stopped being vegetarian and had some health improvements so thought that maybe being vegetarian and protein deficient during pregnancy also played a part ....

And then came reading about the BTD in LR4YT.

Its been like peeling the layers of an onion.  I was almost 40 when he was born. An O vegetarian, lots of grains. Dairy, wheat, corn.  Heavy tea drinker and fluoride user myself. Stressful job. Adrenal fatigue.

My son is now 10, from the ages of 5 til 9, we had to work hard on stress management, nutrition etc.  His speech problems have gone, he is a happy and confident child. His room is untidy, but after lined up toys I don't moan  , He can swim.

We never went down the "conventional" route because at the time all that was offered was speech therapy (with a long waiting list) and vaccination was such a pressure on us.... So our experience is anecdotal.

But although it is a much lesser problem than we faced, he is allergy prone, and we have got to a point now where we would like to address this "vulnerability" and the autistic spectrum "predisposition" before he hits his teens. The next layer of the onion?  Hence a very gradual introduction of BTD, a few swaps here and there for the family.

So far so good.

Watch this space.

Hi Chloe BTD works works for autism allowing the enzyme secretine to perform its function for digestion and gut; this enzyme is not working especially for As in a diet rich of gluten, dairy and nightshades, which BTD tells to avoid for As blood grup. Casein, gluten and other food intolerances trespass the hematoencefalic barrier resulting toxic as opiates for the brain of the persons affected. The gut with an intolerance develops permiability to the non digested proteins and in the blood flow they can get to brain; the neurologists have researched and written on seizures beacuse of gluten in celiac children.

Wow Rustic, I am so glad for you and your son.  I hope things continue to improve with the BTD.

Our children aren't vaccinated but I had no idea the impact that fluoride could have on a child (we don't use that either anymore).  And your adrenal fatigue affecting your son in utero, wow, I am just blown away at the moment.  I have adrenal fatigue and the ND says it's been going on for a long, long time.  When she checks my 8yr olds eyes (iridology) she says they are almost a carbon copy of mine.  Your story may explain a lot, hmmm....

Thank you for sharing and I look forward to hearing the continuing story {hugs}.

Chloe,
the post in the link Dr D gave us explains it very well, I believe
Quoted Text
Basically, many molecules have characteristics that are similar to blood type antigens, and your body will react the same way to these foods as it would to an infusion of the wrong type of blood. So your body sees these compounds as toxins and rallies its defenses against them, setting off a big immune response. This process is called agglutination, and can be clearly seen under a microscope. Dr. DAdamo can order lectins from all types of foods from a lab supply company. He mixes these lectins with blood under the microscope, and this agglutination can be clearly seen. So, of course, this would have big implications for our kids.

the cause of many of the gains people see when they do the low oxalate diet. The LOD restricts most of the same foods that are the most important avoid foods on the Blood Type Diet for both type A and type O, the two most common blood types. Most notable are wheat, potatoes, kidney beans, and tomatoes.. These are the first foods to go when a person begins a very low oxalate diet, and are staples of most peoples diets here in America.

Hi Caz

Is your water fluoridated? Ours isn't although there is often talk that it will be    (If it is I will have equipment that removes it installed and deduct it off my water bill  )
Fluoridated water really annoys me because there is no way to know how much is being ingested through drinking it or bathing in it... In the US I think there is a warning on fluoride toothpaste that if too much is ingested then contact the nearest poison control centre...?

The adrenal fatigue in utero ... as I understand it, but I can't remember where I read it so don't quote me.... if a mother has adrenal fatigue,  then when the baby's adrenals start up, the baby's adrenals support the mother's.  After the birth, when the mum no longer has the additional support, depending on how adrenally fatigued she is herself, she may "crash" (perhaps even showing up as post natal depression but not necessarily I suppose, it would depend on the degree of adrenal fatigue maybe?).

My theory is that if a baby is born with compromised adrenal function, then something like vaccination, or long term low level poisoning from something like fluoride, or any combination of similar factors, may be enough to tip the scales in favour of a condition like autism, at least in some cases. Depending on the stressor, it may seem like an overnight thing, or, like us, a very slow progression.

In my own case, I was eating a lot of supposedly "healthy" foods to support my pregnancy, but they weren't right for my type, or my son's type (also O neg). I had adrenal fatigue.  Breastfeeding and not vaccinating were protective for him but it was not enough for making him healthy enough to withstand the fluoride ..... He didn't have the necessary resiliance, which is what I am hoping he can achieve next on our journey...

Its interesting about the iridology, when he was younger I could see from his irises that he had adrenal fatigue but just couldn't work out why ...then came the fluoride thing, and the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle have been slowly coming together ever since.   We started by avoiding fluoride, then as many other chemicals as possible (non toxic toiletries, less toxic washing and cleaning products), additives and colourings were already avoided... Once his food phobias lifted, it was balancing blood sugar levels, more protein, varieties of food etc.

Another interesting thing with the fluoride.... My son had lost his sense of thirst, (probably via the pineal/hypothalamus connection) and it took a long time for that to recover... finally really improving after using a homeopathic combination remedy.  He now goes and gets a drink, rather than us having to give him a drink at regular intervals. As the kidneys are an excretion route for fluoride, I can see how not drinking enough contributes to fluoride build up .... and how not having a sense of thirst can create that vicious circle....

Hi Rustic

You know I forgot all about the fluoride in the drinking water.  We have an under counter water filter in our kitchen but I'm pretty sure it doesn't take out fluoride.  Our water is definitely fluoridated - it isn't fair that we don't have a choice

We are due to change the cartridges in our filter, maybe now is the time to try and find a filter that takes out fluoride too.  I haven't thought of it for a while but reading your post makes it seem a lot more urgent now.

Just checked and the only way to remove fluoride from drinking water is with a reverse osmosis filter (about $550AUD without installation  )  Not sure what my hubby is gonna say if I suggest getting one.

Caz - fluoridealert.org might be worth a look, particularly the health effects database.

Pineal, infant exposure, allergy, brain, gastrointestinal ...

Type Os particularly and thyroid ........?

Fluoride as an enzyme inhibitor....

Scary stuff

All that from fluoride, Rustic! Wow.  I'm so glad for your sake you figured out what it was.

Dr. D, I want to pm that lady and congratulate her.  I tried last night but I have to sign up to be a member and all.  What a testimony.

Hello again all Btd's:
WOW!!!! All that information was very informative and helpful. Didn't know that food could be so affective to cause certain illnesses if one didn't follow a diet that was according to their blood type. I am going to try real hard to follow the BTD since I am a blood type A and also very intolerant to wheat/wheat gluten. Have to be careful what I eat or else I get quite ill from it. I have been learning what foods make me sick and what don't. So, have to try and stay away from those foods that I am intolerant to.
Again, thanks to all of you for the helpful info. Glad I just happened upon it.

Rustic, I think I found a link to the article that talks about a woman's adrenal fatigue and the result when pregnant....it was a Suzanne Somers article.
http://www.ahealth.com/content/education_research/published_excerpts/sexy_years.php

I read it too awhile ago and decided to print the article out.  I have some of her books and I put the article in one......you reminded me of it.....

Thank you paulam, I'll print it out

When I think about the adrenals during pregnancy.... and then some of the potential vaccine fillers   I'm so glad my son wasn't vaccinated.

Apart from what is toxic for all blood types, it would be interesting to see if there was any connection between a child's blood type and their BT specific "avoids" within a vaccine. Most of the controversy seems to revolve around mercury, but there's probably more to it when adrenal fatigue and fillers/BT avoids are taken into account.
