Well, I've been using this stuff for a few days now, and I'm pretty sure it's giving me headaches and making me feel icky overall.  Any ideas why?

Well, don't use it then.   Sorry.  Try a smaller amount maybe?

I use less than one teaspoon at a sitting, and I only use it maybe twice a day, once for my yogurt and once for my oat bran.  I'm getting headaches, light-headedness, muscle weakness, no energy, and sudden hunger pains, much like before I started BTD.  It sounds like it's made of corn syrup!  I wish I had observed this connection sooner, but I didn't start off reacting this way.  Yeah, definitely not using this stuff again, but it's a diamond food for me--so strange!

For those interested, it's brand name is Heritage Products, I bought it at Whole Foods (the "body shop" part, not the food part), and the ingredients are "USP Grade Pure Vegetable Glycerin".

See....that was my first thought.  Anything that says Vegetable on it reeks of corn to me.  I'm trusting Dr. D that it's not made of corn, but I haven't been able to find out what it really is made from.

I get the NOW brand.  It says "food grade" on it, but it's also in the cosmetics section.  Maybe the brand you got isn't food grade.  What does USP grade mean?

Good question.  Another thought that came to me is that this may be another food sensitivity issue, kind of like how I'm sensitive to eggs even though they are also a superfood.

the processed form is glycerol and should show no lectin activity.....
you simply are susceptible to glycerol.

USP stands for United States Pharmacopia...  Here is a website speaking specifically about Glycerin.  It also describes USP grade and more...  Maybe more than you ever wanted to know...

USP and food grade are synonymous...

I have consumed no veg. glycerine today, and I feel 100% better.  I think I was right.  Lola, I think you are right, too, this is just something I'm personally sensitive to and has nothing to do with BTD or GTD.
