I know there are most likely some good threads on this out there somewhere... but it seems I feel so much worse after about a week off caffine and sugar than I did on it. I hurt so much more all over and get horrible fogged in days where I can't do anything except barely move from room to room with no motivation which of course drives one back to 1/2 cup of coffee or some kind of chocolate sugar hit.
How long does it take to come off this stuff!? I remember one woman saying something years ago about 6 weeks of hell before she was finally free. Is that what others have gone through... ? Is there a way to ease the pain and stress of this withdrawal and is this what I'm really feeling? |

It usually takes me about three to five days before I really feel great coming off of caffeine and sugar. But then again, I'm an A secretor, and can probably tolerate both a little better... |

up your protein and veggies, whenever you feel a cafeine craving or lack of energy....also drink up all your water! remember the lousier you feel, the more effective the detox process is......hang in there, and don t give in! |

well today I've only had 1/2 cup of "1/2 caffine, 1/2 decaf" with some soy milk in it.
had that about 9am.
did my 50 minutes on the elliptical.
it's now 2:30 and I've got a major fog headache going so I dropped some ibuprofen hoping to fend this devil off. sigh.
haven't had any hard core sugar today.
joints hurting, back hurting, head hurting.
off to drink some water and proberry.
thanks... and please keep the comments/experiences coming.

Please also remember to brew yourself and drink green tea.
Mineral water + fresh lemon juice + sea salt (1/2 - 1 teaspoon per 250cc).
L-tyrosine on an empty stomach is an excellent support for head and mood. |

does fruit work for you , sugarwise? some dried cherries (organic) could be had after a high protein meal, maybe with some twig tea.....(kukicha tea) (its a bit more hearty than gr tea) |

Well I made it through yesterday afternoon. This morning I'm feeling a bit sluggish so I'm going to have some green tea and hang on for dear life.
I'll also do some nice exercising this a.m. and that will get me goin' a bit.
Slept pretty good last night - took two Musclease caps - usually don't have to do that, but felt like I needed a deep sleep due to the subtle effects of sugar and caffine withdrawal not causing me to sleep as well as I should and wake up groggy even after 8 hours.
thanks so far for all the help...
and yes I can eat fruit with no issues - thank you. |

Low adrenaline from burned-out adrenals. Deflect is good; can take up to a month to level out in your system. Have you tried Rhodiola as an alternative to replace the caffeine and sugar? |

When is a good time to start taking it? Right away as I'm trying to get off coffee? This morning we had Applegate Farms sausage stir fried with kale, peppers, onions, garlic; eggs and spouted grain bread with Ghee. I think that will help alot with balancing the brain chemicals for this morning. |

Rhodiola is very effective, and especially for O's. It will stabilize energy, as well as balancing moods. And it is good for the heart muscle also! I would try and take it early in the day. It's not a stimulant, like caffeine, but since it makes us feel more energetic, nighttime might not be the best time to take it. |

You can't go wrong by starting slow on a new supplement. Find out what it does for you and how your body responds to it. |

Just found this thread. I am replacing years of strong coffee with regular tea right now, but want to get off that soon also. What helps my fogginess is something with tyrosine in it, like catechol.... the tyrosine is a natural aid in this case. It's one amino acid that I believe coffee depletes. It definitely helps when I remember to take it. Sounds like you are doing well! |

Two days without the black acid, gut eating, brain jumping, hormone damaging c**p!!!! And pretty good on the sugar also... thanks for all the tips! I'm using them for sure! of course this is meant to apply toward us O's - not to offend the A's who can have the stuff! wish I could... but, well, you know the drill... |
