I work at a outdoor lodge which gives accomodation and access to kyaking and so on. My time here is almost over. But although i was quite sceptical before about the blood type diet. I was in belief that the mediterreanan and asian diets were the best way to long life and health.

Tomatoes have become my main belief that the blood type diet works. I have b blood type, and today I ate more pizza which had tomato sauce that i probably should have.

I am wondering how if there is a way i could counter the effects of tomatoes. I feel very tired and dizzy right now, and I suspect my blood sugar levels are off. I know the main problems with tomatoes is how they interact with the blood stream...

So i suspect there is nothing i can do except avoid the food in the future?

I am thinking along the lines of, drinking ginger tea or licorice (as an example)

thankyou.

Hi John,
welcome in this forum.
I'd look for Deflect B every time you have an avoid and to heal previous lectin damage.
There is a blend of N. Acetyl DGlucosamine and N. Acetyl Cysteine that protect and heal the lectin damage for Bs. Till you have not Deflect B , two or three slices of fresh pineapple are delicious and great for digestion and inflamation. Ginger tea and fresh ginger in my opinion help digestion just to be quicker and  is less powerful against inflamation than pineapple.
Have the best results with BTD, the best diet to trust and the only based on human genetics and individuality.

Are you sure that it isn't all that refined wheat flour making your blood sugar levels go crazy? If you are a nonsecretor white wheat goes from neutral to avoid while tomato goes from avoid to neutral. Have you had a blood test for glucose levels lately? Some tomato sauces also have high fructose corn syrup and I know that knocks me for a loop. Sounds like more info is needed.

Hi John_w27, and welcome!

Visit the member center and pick out a nice, shiny Type B shield so that everyone can tell "who" you are at a glance.    While there, you may also input other items, like a signature, your age or your sex (if you choose).

John,

Those effects are probably not from a single ingestion of tomato by someone just starting the diet. Tomato does have some 'quick' effects for arthritis sufferers and others.

There are any number of possibilities for your issues. Do you have any known health problems? Ever experience anything like that before? Anything else unusual happen around that time?

I dont feel much when I just eat wheat - just get fatter.
If I eat tomato I get an itchy feeling from mouth to bottom
IF I eat tomatoes AND wheat at the same meal I get litteraly sick... feels thired, diarrea - I might get a pain in my ears etc.

Ginger tea is very helpfull as well as fullfat yoghurt with nothing added it heals me quite fast.

I would say that the WHEAT in the pizza dough is probably the biggest offender.

There is another thing to think about, some mass produced sausage and pepperoni now have chicken and soybeans added as well as dextrose. Or so I have gathered by idly reading frozen pizza boxes. Then there is the corn meal some people dust the baking sheet with and the corn or soybean oil cheap pizza makers use instead of olive oil.

It could still be the wheat - pizza dough is different than regular bread dough, etc. Plus, most pizza dough has a little extra sugar in it.

I am a B and have eaten tomatoes but I am not sure of my secretor status, either. I think some are correct in that possibly the wheat or additives in the other products can make you feel that way. I know a long time ago, before knowing about the BTD, if I ate canned spaghetti sauce, I would not feel well the next day and it always seemed it might be the spices but probably a combination of a lot of things I was not aware of at the time.

I am married to a Type O Italian American, so as you guessed, he does make his great pasta sauce from time to time and I do eat it, just try to stick to brown rice or spelt pasta to ease things a little. And, since it is made from scratch, he is very careful about using good ingredients. I think  more and more people are becoming so aware of all of the "things" that are in our food supplies that just controlling what you eat through making it yourself really seems to help a lot!
