Also, you used no beneficial meat/fish. I think this is important if you are trying to lose weight.

Ok, thanks Lloyd, good point, you got me to go out and buy halibut for dinner. I have not been a fish fan, but this is the 2nd time I have cooked and enjoyed halibut. I panfried it in butter, OK, that is gonna be good, and squeezed lemon on it. With that I had sw. potato and kale. Ok that's dinner.

OK...I just started posting my days food yesterday and I realized that I am eating too many starches, grains, tho compliant ones. Big surprise!!! (not) In other words, I kinda know that but don't wanna face it.....so what is the point of posting my meals for advise...when I could give my own advise? Its not lack of knowledge, I see now.....its the will to tweak my choices toward wight loss......
I give myself a pat on the back for eating well and making good choices up to a point, but there is another step to ascend...........thanks to all for enlightening me.

She was referring to another diet system. Stick with BTD.

oh yeah, zoning means to me, balancing carb, fats and proteins in a specific ratio which is a weight loss strategy....a difficult one. (you can do it with your own choice of foods...but hard...) Dr. Barry Sears. But like Lloyd says, stick with btd....the Sears website is terrible compared to this one, too.

I am learning so much here and even went off to the book store to check out the rest of the books. I have ER4YT older addition. I think I need Cook right and Live Right.
I did need to improvish tonight and used the gluten free oat flour I have(yes GF).
The chicken cultets came out great.
I had more rice and the flour today and my brain is not crazy like it was yesterday.
I had to get out of bed last night and eat 2 handfuls of cold rice! Just so I could relax and sleep.
Is this normal or do I need to make sure I get all these carbsd in too?

You are in an adjustment period. Great that you are feeling better! Along the way you will adjust your eating habits to be closer to following the general guidelines for your type, sex and racial background but there is no need to try to do it all at once. Lots of O's have a hard time cutting down on grains, it was easy for me because I had had a background of low-carb dieting in the past.

Feel free to start a new thread anytime there is something you want to ask about your diet. Sometimes things get lost at the end of another thread.

its hard for me...its a comfort food thing...but I'm cutting back. Drgnwng...some say eat a carby meal at nght for the serotonin...to help you sleep. However that doesn't have to be grain...can be sw. potato or butternut squash.....etc.

I didn't have a big problem giving up grains. I started ages ago on WW CORE diet. then went to another one that introduced many non wheat grains. Then we decided to go Gluten free with my youngest for serve joint pains.
So I just kinda tweaked things more for ER4YT.
It has been a slow transition each stage but it is working.
I just wish I could do it less expensive. I am also allergic to fish.

I shop at whole foods and I can get a great whole chicken, free range, on sale every few weeks or so, and I buy a couple and freeze one...every little bit helps. We love whole chicken on the grill with nothing but sea salt rubbed all over it. Can do same in oven.
