I'm going to try to start drinking a smoothie in the morning, although I'm rarely hungry then    I like frozen blueberries, apricots and some banana.  Sometimes I use raw kale!  

I love fruit smoothies and was wondering if it'd be okay to dump my supplements into the mix?  Almost all of them come in powdered, encapsulated form and it'd be so much easier than swallowing them with water/tea.

Your post is just at the right time in my life.  I bought some blueberries today and I want to make a smoothie.  I have sent for my secretor kit, but I think I am a nonnie.  Therefore soy milk  and almond milk and of course cow milk is not allowed.  What can I put in a smoothie?  I was thinking of blueberries, peaches and ice.  would that work?

Hello!  I use a Magic Bullet blender, it's not very big, so I don't put ice in it.

I chop and freeze bananas, peaches, plums, blueberies and apricots, etc.  They turn out very cold and thick!  Sometimes I add spring water because they're too thick.  I also add a flaxmeal and other stuff.  I don't use any dairy--don't need it!  Especially with a little banana--makes them creamy.  I'm wanting to dump my supplements that are in capsules in there...

Just be inventive!  You're going to LOVE the smoothies!

Speaking of amaranth.......It is good more O and A, but I cannot find it even at our health food store.  I know it is a grain, but why is it so hard to find and what do I do with it once I find it?

For my smoothies, I put a half a banana, two pineapple rings, and a third of a mango in a blender and get that really smooth, then I add unsweetened soymilk.... turns out really smooth and creamy.  I'll make this one day and the next day  I will do banana, strawberry, peach, and 2 pineapple rings,  I get that real smooth and creamy and then add my unsweetened soy milk.  Tastes so good and very filling and satisfying.

My husband's cancer book from Dr. D says that bananas and mango are avoids.  Guess I will use other fruits.  I forgot to add that he is an A.

I usually start with rice milk and add a scoop of rice protein powder.  A tablespoon of flaxseeds and a lot of frozen strawberries and a banana and maybe some black or blueberries.

I also make one with rice milk, canned pumpkin, ice, cinnamon, nutmeg, flaxseed and protein powder.

I agree.  I would have never thought to use pumpkin.  Pumpkin is good for us O's.  I just bought  Magic Bullet and made my first smoothie ever.  I used peaches, blueberries and pineapple and some pineapple juice.  It was wonderful.

The place I work has a cafe that sells coffee beans of assorted flavors.  One of the coffees is flavored pumpkin and spice.  I am anticipating getting some of that.  Hmmm....I wonder how that would be....pumpkin and spice coffee smoothie....I don't think that would go over to big.

Oh Cathy, you hit upon a once favorite of mine which is the Pumpkin Spice liquid Coffee Mate.  It's just one bottle of absolute heaven made with a ton of absolute poisons.  Farewell, Coffee Mate.  But I can still have my smoothies.

Yes!  !  AnOTHer case of white death!  At my work they spoon that (and white sugar) dried version into their coffees all day with wreckless abandon!

Update!  I've been making breakfast smoothies theis last week and they're great!  I'm putting all kinds of powdered supplements in them and they tast fine.  Yay!  Half the battle!

It is a great idea to put all of one's supplements in a smoothie, thus one would not have to swallow many supplements.  A smoothie with fresh or frozen fruit would also 'mask' any undesirable taste(s) from the supplements.
