I want to purchase some compliant grains but many I've never tasted.  Which ones do you like/dislike?

Also, how are you using your new-found grains?

Thanks!

Although I don't eat many grains at all...the best ones I like are brown rice (have to watch this one as I ache on it...even brown rice flour), quinoa and kamut...seem to do a little better on these.  The tastes are really nice too.  More nutty tasting.

Thanks!  Yes, I read that thread on the grains--I got lost in it!

I'm think of getting some teff, kamut, amaranth and brown rice flours.
Yes!  Now I need that recipe link, since I've no idea what to do with this stuff

Hi Scout -

I absolutely love all grains but they put weight on me so I limit myself to one (or maybe two) servings a day.  I really like amaranth and rye.

I keep meaning to buy some whole amaranth and cook it up.  Maybe I'll do that this weekend.

I suspect I may have to watch that, too.  But coming from a low cr background for some time, grains are more like an occasional treat rather than a staple.  BUT--I hope I don't develop an amaranth addiction!
I have no idea what these taste like.
I did make some pumpkin muffins with rye flour that were sort of tasty, but that's been a while back.  I didn't seem to go crazy on them.  I only had 2 or 3 a day and they were mini-muffins.

Thanks, Mitchie!

Mitchie,
your limited daily servings would be like my weekly ones!!! sigh!

so I just simply leave grains out......
but now I m thinking of adding a bit of legumes, like beans according to my swami results.....
will be quite an experience!

Scout,
let me know if you need any specific recipe, or maybe help you tweak one according to your needs.
there are so many great bakers in this community!
so no worries!
