There was a good thread on this in the Nonnie clubhouse a week or so ago. Lots of good ideas and some that were a bit suspect (sardines!)
I usually use some beneficial fruit (frozen blueberries, 1/2 banana, frozen raspberries), a little beneficial juice (pineapple), a couple of tablespoons of ground flax seed and a couple of rice protein (if I'm using it as a meal). Just got some NAP protein powder, but have to finish my rice protein first. Top it off with a little seltzer to make sure there's enough liquid and whiz it up in my Magic Bullet. Delicious!
I bought the Magic Bullet after watching an infomercial (I'm a sucker for those) and it's so easy to blend up whatever you have handy.
I have just ordered a juicer and look forward to creating some good vegetable juices...tomato, celery, onion, garlic, beets, green pepper, lemon...mmm. Can't wait.
Nutbutter is also a nice source of protein! My most favourite smoothie ever is mango, banana and almond butter and a bit of water to get desired consistency!

Oh, I wish I liked mango!! I've tried it several times cause I know it's good for me, but Just cant take the taste. Cant do fruit right now anyway, but when I can, hey who knows, maybe my taste buds will change? I dislike it so much right now, that I accidentally picked up some good laundry detergent that was mango scented and almost threw up when I smelled it.
Wow, Pat - that's too bad you dislike mango that much!! It's one of my favorite fruits - in fact I was just thinking of making a trip to Costco so I could pick some up - yum!! I really need to get back into making smoothies - I do so well with the BTD whenever I do

Yes it is. When I was eating fruit, I tried to eat bennie fruits. Then becuz of the adrenal thing, bananas and figs were supposed to go bye-bye. Which doesnt leave a whole lot of bennie fruits I like. Doesn't matter right now, tho, so I guess, maybe you could eat my share of mango? would you be opposed to that? Hmmm, I thought not.
Canned mango on Amazon.com... by Native Forest! Delicious in shakes! I also order the canned papaya by Native Forest! A great desert or combo with meat!
I was wondering if anyone mixed vegies in with the fruit and protein for a real healthful combo and came out with one that tasted great... ???
I drink a brown rice protein shake for breakfast 5 days a week.
I use pineapple juice as my liquid, throw in beneficial and/or neutral fruits: blueberries raspberries, 1/2 apple, etc. + some sort of beneficial fiber powder, beneficial oil and blend. I haven't tried throwing in veggies yet, I probably should, I just don't want my shake to tast like veggies in the morning, I prefer the sweeter fruit taste. I also bought some almond milk, but haven't tried it yet, I think this is an OK for O's as an alternative to dairy.
I just ordered some of D'Adamo's protein powder for O's, and in the interim I'm using one that I bought at Whole Foods with no wheat/gluten, soy, corn, sugar, yeast, etc.

Know exactly how you feel - I'm no fan of mango either! *yuck*
I do blend it in with other fruits in my smoothies - like that I can't taste it, but hopefully benefit from it's beneficialcy (that's not a word, is it?! ) anyway!
Alia Vo - no, still haven't done the secretor test. I don't really have the $$ to buy it, but people keep telling me it's important to know...so I may break down and do it.
I really like the Simply whites, powdered egg by Bioplex, a very good product, and its great in smoothies. I used to use half rice protein powder, but it is very funky in comparison....has a bit of gritty texture and a "dusty" taste, while the egg white gives a light fluffy quality to the smoothy. Then, pineapple juice, soymilk, banana, blueberry, and we're on.

This takes some forethought and prepration, but perhaps try soaking the protein powder overnight before you decide to have your next smoothie/shake. The soaking process may make the gritty texture less obvious and the granules may dissolve better once blended.
As well, soaking any type of grain for a few hours is always beneficial for digestion.

You should be okay with the secretor food list for the present moment.
I believe several blood type O's on this forum have taken their own initiative to experiment with the O non-secretor foods and have felt better adhering to the non-secretor food choices; or have felt better striving to eat grain-free for a short period of time or have decided to not eat grains permanently.

I bet if you added something gooy like egg yolk or goat yogurt it would eliminate the texture
