Good stuff, I agree. Try mixing it 1/2 and 1/2 with chopped walnuts. It greatly improves the fatty acid balance. Almonds are high in omega 6 and walnuts have omega 3, which we really need more of. |

Hmm ... not really, however; I did abuse during the holidays and gained a few pounds That's what too many cakes and cookies will do to u I was just worried that eating too much almond butter on almost a daily basis might be bad for the digestive track since it's a big blob of fat so to speak ... and wondered if this could clog up my digestive track ... Thanks |

Actually, eating fats causes the release of bile from gallbladder/liver and the bile helps lubricate the intestines, which helps prevent constipation. So no, the fat shouldn't clog up your digestive track. |

I thank-u so much MoDon I was just worried that eating 2-3 tablespoons of fat all at once might be too much for the liver to process since I do it almost on a daily basis ... I appreciate ur knowledge |

I didn't say to over do it. The recommended serving size is 1-2 tablespoons 4-7 times a week for type B secretors. However, I think a lot of us tend to over eat nuts/nutbutter. Do be careful about your omega 6 vs omega 3 EFA intake. |

Yes, I agree! That's why my light evening meal, a couple of hours before bed is toasted rice cakes with walnut/almond butter. It makes me so relaxed and sleep well. And I don't eat grain carbs at any other time of the day, for that reason also. |

Mmmmm...good stuff. It's usually 2 spoonfuls for me, along with three eggs, as my last meal before bed time. And no, NOT mixed together. Between the two, I have a fair amount of protein, carbs, and calories, to carry me through the night while I'm sleeping. |

I like to put a bit in smoothies. Yummy.
It`s also a perfect peanut substitute when I make satay sauce, and the like.

I bought a little $5 hand-crank nut grinder, and use it to grind walnuts with. I mix my chopped walnuts into the almond butter, up to 1/2 and 1/2 if the almond butter is thin enough to take the extra nuts without being too dry. Basically, I put in as many chopped walnuts as I can, and still have it soft enough to spread. The more the better, since walnuts are better for us than almonds. |

Drea, It looks sort of like this, but mine has a white plastic top, and the nuts fall into a clear glass jar at the bottom. It's hand cranked, and if you crank it one direction, the nuts are chopped fine; if you turn the handle in the other direction, the nuts are chopped coarse. I use it several times a week. CLICKMost of the grocery stores carry the one I have at around $5. Oh, here is the exact one that I have: CLICK |
