Hi, for the first time I found Ezekiel bread in Traders Jones, but I didn't buy it because I wasn't sure if it is good for B's and is it has to have specific ingreints I should look for?
I found a essene bread (manna) in whole foods frozen section, it was very small and expensive.

Also, since I started BTD I am not eating pasta and I missed it, once long time ago I ate wheat pasta and I hated it, since wheat is no no for us , I looked for wheat free but wheat -free pasta looks like wheat pasta, so I didn't buy it..

Ricepasta is fine - and I have found some really good german spelt pasta as well. Be carefull with WHEATfree past- it often contains corn/maize - or buckwheat.
<I have never cared for either E breads- I just bake my own bread using spelt flour- oats áetc- it is cheaper- and I only eat bread in weekends - any way.

What is ricepasta? I have no idea..

Rice pasta I think the americans use a brand called tinkada or something.
The one I got was just pasta made with riceflour and eggs-
You could also use ricenoodles- but they work best in more oriental dishes- a bit weird with cheese and need almost no boiling.

Well I don┤t bake with bread mashine:

Here is a basic recipe for B┤s:

10 grams fresh yeast- or 5 grams dry yeast  /  ( I am not that experienced with dry yeast we use fresh here.
Look here for explanations of differnt types. It is the small sqaure compressed form I use.

600ml / 20 fl oz lukewarm water
200 ml  aprox 6 fl oz yoghurt or kefir
1 kg / 2.2 pounds speltflour- either just fine white or 1/3 wholemeal spelt  flour and 2/3 white spelt flour
2 tbls salt/ Halen / Mon Maldon or other sea salt ( maybe less IF you use fine salt)

In a large bowl put yeast water and yoghurt- mix carefully until yeast mixed.
Add salt and most of flour - but keep some of it back . ( dough should be a bit wet)
NOW knead untill it is smooth -IT will be sticky ( I am lazy so somtimes I let a machine do it )
Let it stand in a cool room ( 15 C)( 59 F ) with cling film over for 8-12 hours.

Take dough out - and use  some  maybe all of the rest of flour so It doesn┤t stick to your table
- press carefully air out of dough- and make two breads- put in well buttered forms.

Let  them stand in a fairly warm room- to they double their size -can take anything from 2- 4 hours.
Bake carefully some cuts on top- maybe egg wash the top.

Bake in hot over 200 C / 392 F for aprox 35- 40 min.

put 1 bread in freezer and the other will keep fresh the next 3-4 days.

This is an european style bread....
can be made into buns as well-  but will need less rising time the 2nd time then.

IF you double  the yeast you can bake it faster- but it gets dry faster and and if made with wholemeal spelt flour crumbles more.

NOW this is made in a flat country with european flour- so you might have to twist it a bit if you use american spelt flour or live in the mountains..

It is pretty good made with sour dough as well instead of yoghurt and yeast.
I think it takes a long experience to learn to bake and getting used to bake with other flours than wheat is a challenge

Riso Scotti is an italian brand who produces rice based pasta rather good to eat, as in US Tinkyada and may be other brands (Pastariso). Scotti brand has been found and bought also by other Forum members  outside Italy.
The common gluten free products helas contain nearly always corn so avoid them!

You can find spelt pasta at WHole Foods and other HFS. Look for Vita Spelt products.

TypeBase indicates that Rice Cakes / Flour are Beneficial for B's...  My guess is that rice pasta would be great for you; in proper portion size and frequency for your individuality...

There are many members here who are not B's that are quite versed in the diet for other types than their own.
