Kefir is really good for B's and I am buying Lifeway Kefir from store which gets expensive if you are eating a lot. I was thinking is there anyway I can make this my own like you can make yogurt from milk, can I make kefir from milk? Anybody has any idea? |

all you need to do is buy a kefir starter and then you make it just like yogurt, there are lots of starters to buy on line, I've used http://www.bodyecology.com before and it works well |

I have started to make my own kefir as well- we couldn´t get it in the shopes- even though I live in "dairy"land I don´t use the real version with only kefir grains( the one you have to wash)- but I use a starter just like yoghurt. So easy and very good. |

I think the starter is easier to keep alive- but strickly speaking it is not pure kefir. |

okay thank you all... I think making kefir from kefir grains is the best idea, I wonder is it easy or not.. When I order online, by the time it gets me do you think it will still be alive? That's my worry.. |
