Just got my book and on pg 86, under catagory of breads/muffins it lists ezekiel and essene breads are beneficial yet the avoids list contains sprouted wheat bread. From what I have read, they are one in the same, essene being 100% sprouted wheat and ezekiel having a few more sprouted grains but includes sprouted wheat. Mistake or what? Thanks

I thought it was because ezekiel/essene are 100% sprouted grains, whereas some other so called "sprouted wheat bread"s contain a smaller % of sprouted grain along with some ordinary flour..........? but I am most definitely no expert, still very much learning so hopefully someone else can give a definitive answer. I don't even know whether we can get such things in the UK.......
One, the food list values change slightly in the newer books starting with LR4YT. Also TYPEbase online should have the latest food values. I say this because Ezekiel bread is no longer considered a type O beneficial. It is currently rated a type O neutral, because it was determined that the manufacturer was not fully sprouting the grains in the bread.
Two, the food value listing for sprouted wheat bread represents standard commercially available sprouted wheat bread, which seems to always include wheat flour also, which is a type O avoid. If you can find sprouted wheat bread, like at a health food store, that is only made with sprouted wheat, then it would be considered a type O neutral and OK to use.
Ezekiel, Essene and Manna breads are made from 100% sprouted grains, as opposed to all other commercially available sprouted grain breads which also have regular flour included in the recipe. The lectins in many grains are contained in the seed coat. The seed coat is actually metabolized by the seed/grain when it is germinated, thereby eliminating the lectin and rendering the food useable. New brand names of sprouted grain bread are continually coming to market. Always check the ingredient label for the presense of unsprouted flour or grain.

So that means that a particular manufacturer's ezekiel bread is a neutral. Maybe the manufacturer should have been noted, but if ezekiel bread is made the right way it would be beneficial, right?
I don't know if you noticed or not, but on the Food for Life website it shows that the name Ezekiel 4:9® is registered, so the Food for Life Ezekiel bread will be the only "Ezekiel 4:9" bread you will find.

Does anyone know if Trader Joe's sprouted wheat bread is comparable to Ezekiel bread? I'm suspicious because it tastes so much better than Ezekiel bread! It doesn't have any wheat flour or any other kind of flour, but has wheat berries and wheat gluten listed. Are these alright to eat?

I believe the whole grain wheat berry would be similar to wheat bran/germ, since it is the whole grain. If this is the case, wheat germ is only neutral for blood type AB, and wheat bran is only neutral for blood type AB: http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/depictor5.pl?520
The wheat berry must be sprouted for it to be a beneficial sprouted wheat bread.

I'm new to this diet, as well as the forum. I am an O+. I've been on the diet for approximately 2 weeks. And, I'm looking for a receipe for pizza crust and a substitute for oat meal. Also, I thought I read some where that we coundn't take any supplements while on this diet. I currently use Co Q-10, fish oil capsules and kelp? Does anyone know if this is okay.
Check the recipe base on this site. You can use spelt or any of the alternative flours like kamut, rice, etc. Ezekiel 4:9 tortillas can be used as well. After a while, you won't even miss it though! Jane

Where did you read that you can't take supplements? Not true. Fucus, a specific variety of kelp is very beneficial for Type O's, and is one of the things Dr. D recommends for Type O's. What are you taking the other supplements for? Instead of fish oil, why not get your fish oil from beneficial fish? That being said, Dr. D has developed a line of supplements through North American Pharmaceutical (NAP) some specifically targeted for certain blood types, and other supplements suitable for all types. You can find them at The BTD Stores
Check the recipe base for spelt or rice pizza crust recipes. Understand though that grains really need to be kept to a minimum for Type O's to succeed on this new way of eating and living. In LIVE RIGHT, Oatmeal and oat products become avoid if you are a non-secretor.
Again, welcome.

I saw different type of Ezekiel 4:9 bread at Traders Jones, but didn't buy it because it has a lot of things in it that I wasn't sure if it is okay for B type even though I know Ezekiel Bread is good for B types. Actually, next time I go there I will write it down ingredients and come here and check the Typebase4..
hi MoDon, thanx for sharing this link.... I am going to distribute it here in CH-landli
and yes I think people with glutenintolerance shouldn't eat any kind of gluten because they will react on this stuff and it is really very bad for the gut; I don't think that sprouting will do anything if you are intolerant to such stuffs ......sprouting isn't that merely to get off the effects of the lectins'activities

Ozlem, as long as there is no whole or refined wheat flour added to the sprouted bread, it is fine.
most commercial sprouted breads add unsprouted wheat flour also. that s what you want to watch out for.....it has to be 100% sprouted, even rye is ok to have sprouted if you are a B.
now if you are celiac or have a gluten intolerance, then even 100% sprouted would be a problem.

There is only one brand of Ezekiel 4:9 bread because it is a registered name.
Quoted from ironwood55
I don't know if you noticed or not, but on the Food for Life website it shows that the name Ezekiel 4:9® is registered, so the Food for Life Ezekiel bread will be the only "Ezekiel 4:9" bread you will find.
However, Food for Life does offer a few different versions of their Ezekiel 4:9 bread, sesame, low sodium, cinnamon raisin and of course the plain. Depending on blood type some of the versions might have avoids for some people. For instance, as a type B the cinnamon and the sesame would be an avoid.

I have bought Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted 100% Whole Grain Bread. It has ingredients Org spourted wheat, org sprouted barley, org sprouted millet, org malted barley, org sprouted lentils, org sprouted soybeans, org sprouted spelt, filtered water, fresh yeast, sea salt. I have checked barley, millet, spelt okay, but how about wheat, lentils and soybeans, are they okay when they are sprouted? It also says low Glycemic, what is that?
Also, I saw somewhere but can't remember you can make your Alfredo sauce...anybody know where?
