I know this question is border line taboo... , but I just gotta know. Beer is mainly hops, barley, etc! Why is it an avoid? I do not mean to be an imbecile, I promise.... Is it in the process? Getting tired of red wine.... |

I just read all that on beer. I know it is a neutral for a nonnie...but I try to concentrate on the benificials....I tend to ignore the neutrals....whats the point? I would say about 90% of my diet is from the benificial list. I guess I think I would rather do all the good stuff, than go halfway. Wrong? Neutrals are good when in a pinch though... |

HI I would say it is wise to be mainly on beneficials if sick or overweight - but IF you are well- I think you gets too little variety in your food. Lots of the neutral foods are really healthy- but might not work as a medicine- like the benficals. this is a quote from LRT page 113 : As the popularity of ert began mounting, I became inuted with mails from panic-stricken dieters. They were micro-managing every morsel of their food they put into their mounths. They feared that every deviation- a pinch cinnamon, a pickle...... would send armies of lectins marching through their bloodstreams-strewing agglutinated clumps of cells everywhere. This is the classic dieter´s mentality - it´s counterproductive. The point isn´t to live in fear that errant food will "get" you. The point is to work toward a more synchroneus balance between your genetic propensities and your overall diet and health practices. if you are generally healthy you can afford to be more flexible when occasions demands it.Note this was about avoids! on page 134 it says: NEUTRAL: theese food usually has no direct benfit or harmful effect - based on your blood type, but many supply nutrients needed fo a well- balanced diet- I highlighted the last The ? is: can beer be usefull for nutrients or is it more a good tool when one wants to have a good time I hope you turn out as a nonnie - cheers |

Don't forget the Yeast. 'Brewers Yeast' is not the yeast used for making beer - its the leftover trub residues. Yeast for beer would be closer to Baking Yeast for all intents and purposes. |

I think this question has been brought up in a past thread. I did not save the thread, thus I do not have any references for you.
If I remember correctly, it's related to the fermentation process of beer making.

Don't forget about white wine. Neutral is better than avoid. Sometimes I'll add some juice to the red or white wine to add another dimension to the flavor. |

Drea,
That sounds like a good idea to give red or white wines a boost. What kind of juices do you add?

I've used pineapple in white, grape and pomegranate juice in red. It's a bit of experiment each time. |

!!!! Boy do I know the feeling!! IMHO, anyone who has ever taken antib's needs to really load up on the Polyflora. Seems to be helping me and my brother alot. He had been having ALOT of probs in that area until he started doing 9 Polyflora a day. All was going well until he started the beer. All my yakking about BTD has finally paid off for him (and he NOW appreciates all that yakking ) because he is paying attn to how his body reacts to the foods/drinks he consumes. Plant, water and repeat. |

I wholeheartedly recommend Polyflora (by NAP). I take one in the morning and one in the evening (both on an empty stomach) and that keeps me regular ~ if I don't eat avoids. Great stuff! |
