This site is a great place to order bison meat, as well as ostrich, lamb, elk, chicken.  They have the best shipping price of any I have found, and the bison meat is excellent.  All I have had is the ground bison, which is the most inexpensive I think, but this time I ordered some ostrich, which is supposed to be beneficial for O's too.  So, we'll see how it tastes.  Anybody had it?

Anyway, hope this helps someone.  I really like bison better than beef myself.  And the customer service has been excellent.

I have ostrich occasionaly, we even have a place where they sell ostrich souvlakis.

It is quite dark lean meat. Good taste, more like a game than a domestic bird.

I am on the site right now and all I see is bison, turkey and some shrimp and chicken.

Tina, I am curious if you searched and compared many sources of grass-fed bison, before you decided on this site?

You mentioned that they had great shipping prices, how about the meat prices compared to other sites? What state do you live in? The reason I ask is wondering about your shipping distance/cost versus mine.

The reason I ask is shopping for a source of grass-fed bison, at a reasonable price, is something I have been needing to do for a long time. I have started several times, but have never completed the task.

I can buy natural, but not grass-fed, bison ground meat at my local Kroger store for $3.99/lb. I really like it and buy a lot of it, particularly when I run out of my grass-fed beef.

Wow, I was all set to place an order for the variety pak, but to ship here they add another $17.95 and that puts it out of reach for me, AGAIN.  Shipping costs ruin it for me every time.

I haven't priced different grass-fed bisons with one another, I just know that their website says they have the lowest shipping prices, and I did check on other sites for that, and I found it to be true.  I thought the shipping was a rate of $15.00.  I think that is what I pay.  I live in KY.  We do not have bison at our Kroger here.  I like to go for grass-fed because of the better omega 3 ratios etc. that I have read about.  

So, there may be other less expensive bisons out there, but I just don't know what their quality would be or their shipping charges.

BTW...I fixed chili and used the ostrich meat today in it.  My extended family was here and I didn't tell ANYONE because I didn't want to freak them out!  They had no idea and said the chili was delicious!  The meat was tasty in the chili, very tender!  I haven't had it just as a burger yet, but can't wait to try it!
