Hemp is being used more and more as a gluten free flour substitue and in protein smoothie mixes. †Any data on blood type compatibility?

I dug thru the Archives a year ago - If I remember rightly there wasn't much about hemp for ABs and As.
But there were reports depending on Oil or Meal for Os and Bs depending on secretor status.
It was too long ago for more specifics.

However, for me, this new product of dehulled, defatted meal/flour acts a lot different from the whole seed meal.

Well I would be bit carefull with hemp- especialle if type B - who does best on monosaturated fat.....

Hemp oil contains about 78-80 % polysaturated fat - so no heating please !
It contains omega 6 and 3 in the ratio of 3:1 so it could be worse - but most of us do get our share of omega 6.

I would never bake with it- for the same reasons- and oil and seeds should be kept a cold and a dark place.
I am not sure I would bother with it- it is never been a traditional food item- but great as all other kinds of things- fibres clothes etc.

Maybe - I have no idea how it taste?_ it would ok on a salad ??

Thanks everyone - I am still wondering about hemp protein or help flour vs. hemp oil.  Does anyone know if that would make a difference?

The hemp protein is a great option IMO for peopel who cannot tolerate egg or whey protein powders. Of course, you could use rice protein powder instead.  But hemp protein powder contains a really nice amount of fiber.  It tastes like bitter cat turd.

I have not tried hemp flour nor hemp protein powder, but I know it is a popular high protein source for vegetarians and vegans who can not have or tolerate other common protein sources.

I just checked a source for hemp flour with S&H 11.77 a pound and

it says it can be added to your baked good or breads.  I was thinking it could be used instead of wheat flour.  Has anybody made bread with it?  another question does it get you high or not?

Using hemp flour is legal and will not get you high.

People who consume hemp products sometimes get false positives for marijuana use during drug tests.

I have not baked with it. I do not think people usually make baked goods entirely out of hemp flour. My understanding is one would substitute 10 to 15% or so of the flour in a recipe with hemp flour.

I've made pancakes with 100% hemp flour. Tasted great, but the texture was a little ggritty. Because it has no ggluten, hemp flour not only doesn't hold together too well, it doesn't rise too much. So you don't get your classic fluffy cake, bread... but I prefer denser bread products anyways! It also has a funny color, kinda like henna.

So.....not to be dense, but it sounds like people both O and A types have explored this - good as a non gluten, high protein source of flour, but since it is made from seeds and not grain, I would think that might make it suspect for B's.....and I suppose until it is actual tested for lectin, one would have to go by how their body responds.  I'm asking because there is a protein powder mix which includes both rice and hemp that I like, but two of my kids are A, the other B, and I am AB.....
