Thanks Andrea!  I just watched the body brushing on you tube and it was very helpful. I just tried it and it felt great.

I wonder if the expression "quitting cold turkey" came from eating dark meat turkey to quit addictions.

I've read somewhere that the reason prunes
are considered a diuretic is because the
body is treating the high levels of Olixic
acid as a poison and tries to expel it quickly.
Can anyone verify this?

Wow I'm amazed by so many people posting more than once a day, or you guys get to go after every meal! I'd be lucky if I get to go once a week. Used to have oatmeal with fruit every morning. Will cut out oats and see how I do!

I know I am not a type O.. but I have been waking up in the middle of the night to move my bowels like 2-4 am.   What the heck..is it detox or just my metabolism is fast.

Oh yes I go again upon arising at 7 or so.

I'm between 2 and 3 times a day, mostly two. Some are floaters, which I heard is good.

I read that floaters indicated you aren't digesting fat.  It is in the stool, which causes it to float.

Interesting. Proponents of probiotics and good intestinal
health claim floaters are what you want.

I'm starting to loath reading about health and diet because
the more I read the more controversial and confusing it gets.

Just the other day I caught a glimpse of the Alkalizing diet
food chart and I was just blown away at the foods that
(those proponents claim) cause problems, which happen
to be the foods for my BT. Arrrgg!
Will the madness ever end?

On any account, give me the article on "floaters indicate you
aren't digesting fat", I'm game for more confusion.

Now would it be something to suggest that our poop is as unique as we are?

B's with more bacteria have one look, A's with all that veggie fiber have another look, O's with meat have another look then those AB's well they are always a bit confused .

Our diets are different makes sense to me that our poop would reflect that too!

all those proponents do not take BT or physiology into account.
no worries!

Never looked at it like that. I suppose that's why the good doc made us different pro-bi formulas. Thanks for the insight!

My goodness, a thread devoted to poo   !

I go a minimum of twice a day - usually 3 or 4.  It depends on how much I've eaten and how often - 3 decent-sized meals = 3 decent-sized poops a day.  I like to think of myself as a sausage machine in this way - what's going in is pushing stuff out.  I'm strange I know, but I've always been like this

Hi,
for me,
raw (or vapor cooked) vegetables : roots and green leaves,
they are a good way to move the bollews more often.
Cooked cereals slow down the transit.

So should I take it serious that I only go 3-5 times week?
I get so tired of people saying there is something wrong with
me and my slow metabolism. Is there? Is there a study that
someone could provide me that proves that you live longer
if you poo 3 times a day.

Somehow it seems wrong to go 3-5 times a week.
Transit time seems like it should be daily?
I see a bowel movement as a way of the body cleaning itself internally.

Like Andrea said - moving your bowels is the body's way of getting rid of things it doesn't need... I've definitely heard (& believe) that the longer you hang on to poop, the more chance there is for toxins to be reabsorbed. Not sure about 3 times a day but I definitely feel more sluggish when I don't "go" & am much more energised when I do...You just may not know what a difference it can make if you haven't experienced it

Would love to see a breathe Hydrogen on you Keith. Wonder if how often you poop would effect bacterial levels in the gut?

Questions..

Glad you brought this up because yes, the colon is the only
organ that doesn't get filter through your blood and gets
circulated through the lungs. And obviously a dirty foul
colon is evident through the breath. In all the years of
being slow to poo and dealing with this so called IBS,
I've never had a loved one ever tell me my breath is poo'e.
But I have caught a whiff of some nasty(usually obese people)
breath that I swear smells like poo.

What is this breathe Hydrogen you speak of? I'll google it.

Thanks for you insight.
