I noticed on another post that Kristy requested some type As post their menus... so I thought I'd start a thread
One caveat for my menu: I'm not in 100% compliance, and I eat slightly more servings of grains (in the form of bread, rice, cereal) than recommended.
Today's menu:
530 AM - warm lemon water 6 AM - 1 cup Buckwheat Flakes, 7 pecans, 1 cup soy milk, 1 piece of veggie sausage 9 AM - 1 pumpkin-spelt-pecan muffin with 2 tbs homemade walnut butter Noon - 3/4 cup black beans & 3/4 cup spelt berries with a dash of olive oil, salt, cumin 3 PM - 1 brown rice cake with 2 tbs walnut butter (normally would have peanut butter here but I ran out at the office) 5:15 PM - 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich* and 1 cup veggie soup** 7 PM - apple, Luna or Clif bar***
* I use sprouted grains bread, Earth balance organic "margarine," and two slices of yogurt cheese ** Based in homemade chicken broth, with garlic, ginger, carrots, onion, and celery *** Only if hungry. I have school tonight and sometimes I'm hungry, sometimes I'm not.

How are we suppose to compete with that . Homemade walnut butter, muffins, did you make all that. No wonder you are up at 5:30 in the morning. Even though A's aren't as competive and O's I am up for the challenge. You are doing a great job and I will use you as a mentor to better myself.

Thanks! I'm sorry it's not meant to be a competition I'm actually up at 4:45 to 5 AM because I am at work by 6:30 AM. I'm happy to help you however I can Sassy
My trick to eating well is that I spend most of Sunday in the kitchen. I wouldn't be able to make 80% compliance without that time, much less work on increasing our compliance.
I spent literally 2 hours last Sunday just planning menus for hubby and I. It normally doesn't take that long, but I decided I need to focus on bringing our frequencies more into compliance and it was a PITA (I've never paid attention to frequencies specifically, just in general like only have a dairy a few times a week, etc.) My Sundays are all about getting ready for the week. Shopping, washing fruits & veggies, chopping veggies, marinating meat, cooking rice and beans, packing everything into lunch containers, etc. It takes a lot of time, but I love to cook and we eat so well this way, it's an investment in our health and I enjoy myself. (DH loves it as well because then he can play video games all day without my interruption )
There's a 'what did you eat today" thread in the stickies section that you may find interesting.
I'll do yesterday since today is just beginning:
lemon water
Bfast: Soaked steel cut oats with 1TBL peanut butter and blackstrap molasses w/ blueberries
Snack: cup of coffee w/ veggie glycerin
Lunch: Large green salad w/ broccoli, green beans, cauliflower, asparagus, 3oz. Fresh Red Salmon Dressing: olive oil, lemon, salt and nutritional yeast
Snack: Apple Organic Flax bar from WF
Dinner: veggies and seeds wrapped in Nori with a spread of olive oil and nutritional yeast Steamed green beans with 1tsp Ghee
Dessert: 1/2 slice Ezekiel with 1TBL peanut butter mixed with cocoa powder and vegetable glycerine
I'm married to an O as well. I find that sometimes I have to make either two meals or several side dishes along with the meat/protein. My husband tried the diet for about a week but found it was just to hard for him. When I cook, I keep in mind his diet needs and try to accommadate them.
I'm married to an O as well. I find that sometimes I have to make either two meals or several side dishes along with the meat/protein.
Yep, we get separate meals most of the time as well. He doesn't follow BTD completely - he's not a "believer" so to speak. But, for the most part he's willing to eat whatever I put in front of him so I'm working to learn O requirements as well as fine-tuning my A needs.
I'm going to make him some sweet potatoes this weekend and it may kill me. I have serious potato issues (though mainly for white potatoes).
I'm wondering, is anyone losing weight. I'm new to this, been trying for about three weeks. I think I'm complying 95% as I can. I can't seem to lose any weight altho I do feel a little better, except I feel a little bloated sometimes. Does anyone have any suggestions? Typical day: Breakfast: Oatmeal, green tea, water Juice before I leave for work Snack: 1 apple, muffin I drink iced green tea thru out the day and water. Usually snack on raw carrots and celery when I feel hungry. Drink juice about 4:00 before I head home Supper: Black eyed peas, collard greens, salad w/lemon & oil dressing, sometimes we have some rice or rice spaghetti, maybe a piece of corn bread made from spelt flour and whole grain cornmeal. I'm getting kind of desperate. I want to do this correctly for my health but I also need to lose some weight. My daughter started weight watchers the same day I started this and she has already lost 12 lbs. I would appreciate any advice. Taylo
Taylo - it looks like you aren't eating enough. Also, each meal should have carb + protein, carb + fat, or all three. (That's a general eating thing, not a BTD thing, but it works for most people I know, many of whom are nutritionists, personal trainers, etc.)
You need some protein or fat with your oatmeal (a veggie or turkey sausage or a nut butter would work).
You need some protein or fat with your apple or muffin. The apple and muffin shouldn't be eaten together - both are sources of carbohydrates primarly, and that meal is too carb heavy. Try having one or the other with some nuts or a nut butter.
You should have another meal between the apple/muffin snack and your supper.
Small frequent meals keep your metabolism running smoothly. If you don't eat for six hours, it works on the meal you ate in a few hours and then has nothing else to burn for a few hours. Think of your metabolism like a ball and meals like your pushes on that ball.
You can give it a big push, it will roll a ways and stop. You then have to walk all the way to where it stopped, give it another big push, etc. Or you can give it several small pushes and keep it rolling constantly.
Another thing I've read - I think it was in one of the books but may have been in a post here, is that type As should make breakfast their largest meal of the day. While what works for me is balancing all of my meals, that idea makes a good point: don't make dinner your largest meal of the day. Within a few hours you will be in bed and not needing all those calories, so your body will convert them for storage (i.e. fat). If you eat more earlier in the day, you can burn it off right away.
Hope that helps a little!
p.s. Are you exercising? While diet is very important in losing weight, so is exercise. Even if it's only a 10 minute walk to begin with, make sure you are moving every day outside of normal activities.

Thanks Sandra, I am also married to a type O and he is great in helping me. He cooks all my meals because he does not work. So whatever I ask for he trys to fix. Let me go back and try to add some things I left out earlier. I guess I wasn't thinking clearly. I am coming from the Atkins diet and am having a hard time changing my way of thinking I guess. With my oat meal I add soymilk and splenda. With my green tea I add honey. I usually eat my apple and muffin about an hour apart. Sometimes for lunch I have salmon, sardine, or peanut butter with ezekial bread. After my evening meal I am having a fruit smoothie, usually fixed with soy or rice milk, tofu, and fruit. I feel like I'm eating too much but not getting in the right portions for the day or something. I didn't think I should eat much meat products. Only have chicken 2 or 3 times a week. Your advice was great. Maybe you can give me some more suggestions. Taylo
Oh yeah I forgot I have started trying to exercise every morning before I go to work. It is a walking/with weights tape for 20 minutes. Haven't quite figured out the yoga think yet. Taylo
Let's see... Try to drink your green tea without honey. One cup with a little honey a day isn't so bad, but if you are drinking it all day long (I do that too), the calories from that honey are going to add up. And they are sugar, so they are empty calories. Counterproductive if you want to lose weight.
I'd still suggest getting some protein or fat into your breakfast. Soymilk has some, but oatmeal has a LOT of carbs (good ones though!). You need to try to balance all those carbs with fat (good fat obviously) or protein.
Even eating the apple and muffin separately, you still need some protein in there and some healthy fat to balance the carbohydrates. I know it seems counterintuitive to eat fat if you are trying to lose weight. But I promise it's necessary as long as you are eating good fats (nuts, seeds, nut butters, olive oil).
I would suggest not eating after that evening meal. How much time is between your supper and your bedtime? You want at least 2 hours after eating before going to bed, 3 hours would be better. Again, you need to move more of your eating to earlier in the day.
Be sure you are eating lunch every day. Have veggies with the fish. If you have a PB sandwich, have some fruit half an hour before or after, or along with the sandwich. (Some people have trouble eating fruits with other foods. I don't personally but if you notice a bloaty or gassy feeling after doing so, you might try eating fruit by itself 30 min before or after other food.)
You said you feel like your not getting the right portions - for portion sizes and numbers refer to one of your books to see how "in line" you are.

Oh, I see your problem. You eat Splenda. Stop that immediately!! It causes weight gain instead of weight loss (as does aspartame).
Eat more fish as well.
Let me tell you what I eat in a day (and that helped me lose over 60 pounds).
morning: Oatmeal, with raisins, chopped walnuts and almonds, cinnamon, some honey and some blackstrap molasses, with Soy milk (I also add a little seasalt). If I have time I will eat a grapefruit half hour before this oatmeal breakfast.
Lunch: Two pieces of any compliant fruit and half an hour after that, I eat either two slices of rye bread with goat cheese, a boiled egg with some strawberry soy milk. (the only time I drink something with my meal).
Evening: Two or three veggies with noodles (any kind of the brand eden) and either fish, chicken or turkey (turkey is beneficial for A-nonnies). In the beginning I would also eat a salad of romain, spinach, carrot with self made dressing (walnut oil). Now I do or my veggies, or my salad.
For snack I eat nuts. I take a little bag mixed with walnuts, peanuts, almonds, pecan nuts and some raisins. I eat that when I am hungry. Only needed it the first two months when starting this life style. Now I am not that hungry anymore in between meals.
I only have one cup of hot tea, the rest of the day I'm drinking iced green tea sweetened with sweet n low. I will try eating my big meal earlier in the day. I usually get home around 6:30 in the evening and my husband usually has my supper ready, so I eat then. I usually go to bed around 10:00 or 10:30. Maybe I could just have a salad and the smoothie and eat all the veggied for my lunch. Thanks for all your advice. I'll try and keep you informed if I make any progress. I guess I need to buy either veg or soy sausage to add with oatmeal. Taylo

Taylo & anyone listening...sweet n low is toxic to your kidneys (you don't want to piss them off - ha ha They're responsible for filtering your blood. If they can't do their job you're in trouble.
The filtering units of the kidneys (nephrons) do not grow back and so we naturally (and toxically- environmental, pesticides, drugs, etc) slowly kill our kidneys as we exist on this planet to where when we're elderly we have a much smaller percentage of filtering units in our kidneys. (This is why the elderly have more problems with drug buildup in their bloodstream and urinary infections).
Please! Say NO to Sweet N' Low!

There is an old saying in Germany: Have breakfast like a king, lunch like a farmer and dinner like a beggar.
Not that many act on it. I have breakfast like a beggar. Bread or croissant dipped in Coffee. A small meal at lunchtime and for dinner much more.

I never used to eat breakfast, but since beginning BTD, I have gradually switched over to this way of eating. I love it. I have a large breakfast, medium lunch, snacks throughout the day and usually dinner around 5pm. I eat less and less as the day goes on. Protein for breakfast always. I try to not eat any grains after lunch. this seems to be working for me.
After my breakfast with dry bread dipped in Coffee I get for elevenses some porridge made with reisdrink. And an apple or pear. Lunch is usually some reis or noodles/pasta and vegetables. Later in the afternoon I like to have some reiscake or even real cake In the evenings I have mixed salad, reis or noodles/pasta and vegetables. Some fruit. I do eat fish once or twice the week and sometimes even meat I am very healthy and feel fine with my diet.

then you are doing the right thing!! )
add more of everything to your diet, but choose only from the beneficial and neutral category.
complete protein combos are also good for you, beside your veggies and fruit. protein is made up of amino acids. There are eight amino acids generally regarded as essential for humans to obtain from food sources. (There are other essential amino acids, but they are produced by the body.) The body cannot assimilate these amino acids individually; they must be present in specific proportions for ANY of them to be used. This specific proportion makes up a "complete protein".
Legumes + seeds Legumes + nuts Legumes + dairy Grains + legumes Grains + dairy the exception is soy protein which is a complete protien and an plant protien Fermenting removes most of the phytates which interferes with mineral absorption, it also helps to inactivate the protease inhibitors which interfere with protein digestion

Love this thread. I lost 35 pounds with this diet, and gained quite a bit of muscle due to exercise. Hang in there!
Personally, I posted my food categories on my fridge : Poultry 2- 3 x weekly, beans and legumes 5-7 weekly, etc and then I checked off each time I ate a category. Since I wasn't used to beans, I always got stuck eating them at the end of my week, but it helped changed my habits!
Today's menu: (It's a weird day, took sick kid to the doctor)
lemon water grapefruit and pumpkin muffin (whole brain buckwheat, millet, chopped dates, honey, etc) apple roasted and salted almonds more muffins coffee with breakfast glass of water steamed rice with veggies and chicken (local fast food place, I make them leave out the sauce, salt and msg) braggs aminos and sea salt added to above second coffee *****************************************
The rest of the day hasn't happened yet. I plan on eating:
pan fried pollack strawberry kefir raw veggie (probably a carrot, but who knows)
Since I have a sick little O, I have been trying to pour organic beef broth down him. No luck yet.
Thank you Lola! But really, you did not do me a favour with your suggestion of legumes! I don't like them! But of course I will try the protein combos and see how I like it. I might even get some soymilk again. I have to get used to it! Have a nice day!

Eat more calories, add nut butters, nuts and seeds, use ghee on your foods. More weight bearing exercize to build muscle mass. Don't make aerobic exercize your main focus.
Ok, I like nut butters and nuts but not seeds so much. I workout at my gym on three evenings for 1 hour and I walk a lot and therefore I am nicely muscular. I made a list .... Thanks

Hi kerensa, from a thin Italian A secretor as you, check yourself for a proper nutrient absorbtion (ADE vitamins, Iron Zinc Calcium) if it should get too hard to gain weight. Celiac disease, A stomac hypoacidity and Leaky gut (all rather common) can all make difficult to have a proper weight, as other colon problems. May be yoga can solve everything if you feel well and all is OK , balancing your metabolic rate. Stay well Maria Giovanna
Lola - thanks for the explanation of complete protein. Very clear!!!
530 AM - warm lemon water 6 AM - Ricotta-blueberry pancakes with 1 cup sliced strawberries, veggie sausage 9 AM - 1 brown rice cake with 2 tbs peanut butter Noon - Stiry fry - tofu, veggies, rice 3 PM - 1/2 c black beans, 1/2 c spelt berries, 1 tbs olive oil 5:15 PM - veggie soup, 1 slice sprouted grains bread (toasted) 7 PM - Luna or Clif bar OR piece of fruit if hungry at class
Maria Giovanna - thanks! I will take care of your suggestion. I did take Calcium and Zinc before and will do so again. I can say that with my diet I do feel very well and since I eat inbetween meals I gained some weight alright. kerensa

Sounds like you are doing it right if you went from 47 kg to 53. The idea is to add more caloric foods to your diet.
530 AM - Warm water with lemon 6 AM - 2 slices toast with margarine, 1 c strawberries, 1 veggie sausage 9 AM - yogurt with pumpkin butter & pecans noon - stir fry: tofu, veggies, brown rice 3 PM - brown rice cake & PB 5:15 PM - spelt berries & black beans & olive oil 7 PM - Clif bar or apple if hungry at school
Well the ingrediants are walnuts and palm oil, nothing else. Actually, if I've ever had fish fried in palm oil (in a shop), it's always made me sick, so have steered away from it. I'm sure it would be better to make my own, any receipes?
Just throw some nuts into a food processor, process, and then add some oil (I used walnut oil for my walnut butter) slowly until it reaches desired consistency.

530 AM - warm lemon water 6 AM - oatmeal with soy milk (should have had fruit and a veggie sausage, but we ran out ) 9 AM - 1 brown rice cake with 2 tbs peanut butter Noon - veggie soup (home made chicken broth with carrots, celery, garlic, onion, and ginger) 3 PM - 1/2 c black beans, 1/2 c spelt berries, 1 tbs olive oil 6 PM - stir fry (tofu, veggies, brown rice) 8 PM - May have Clif bar OR piece of fruit if we go hiking this evening
Thanks for the help re making nut butter. It could be hard wirk because I don't have a food processor. Sorry Connect14, afraid we don't all live in the good old USA!! The HFS was an english one but many things were a bit strange when I read the labels.
Does anyone eat collard greens, kale, turnips, etc with their meals? I'm going to take your advice and stop with the sweet n low and splenda. Will use honey or molasses or something else for sweetning. Any other suggestions would be helpful. How long did it take some of you to actually see some weight loss? I'm still trying to hang in there and make some adjustments untile I can see some results. I feel like eating way too much but some of your daily menus seems like more than I am doing. Ya'll have helped me tremendously! Thanks taylo

taylo-collard greens, kale, turnips can be steamed or stir fried. Put some olive oil, ghee, nutritional yeast, whatever. I like to throw turnips, kholorabi, carrots etc. in a beef roast (not for A's) or chicken/turkey while roasting or crock potting. Yummalicious.

Today (Saturday) so far...
Breakfast comprised a homemade Muesli mix consisting of a mix of Oat, Rye & Rice flakes mixed with dried pineapple, pumkin and sunflower seeds. Soaked overnight in Pineapple juice. Served with warm soy milk, topped with stewed apple, natural yoghurt and lecithin. Green tea.
Lunch today was a picnic comprising of a fresh toasted Rye bread sandwich containing EV Olive Oil, Miso, Tofu, Mignonette Lettuce, Zucchini slices, Lentil sprouts and Savoury yeast. Dried fruit including Apricots, Dates & Figs. Fresh Nectarine and green tea.
Currently snacking on cool water and deep fried Broad (Fava) Beans, a better snack than peanuts if you can get them.
Deep fried fava beans? Who makes them? Or do you fry your own and how exactly??
Breakfast: Brown rice pancakes with sauteed blackberries and black strap molasses snack: more plain pancakes (I always snack while driving) Lunch: white rice previously cooked in beef broth, stir fried with onions, garlic, egg, mushrooms, and mung bean sprouts. Snack: celery sticks and white bean dip Dinner is supposed to be: collard greens, cornish hen and grapes

Deb, I actually buy them from a local nut reseller near home. They only appeared just before Christmas and they are absolutely terrific...in fact I might have to go and check the pantry to see if I have any left.
I have started this week off good so I feel I can post.
Breakfast-Kashi maple oatmeal w/raisens and dash of olive oil stirred in. lunch-chicken and rice soup water to drink snack-spelt pretzels dinner-rice&spelt noodles topped w/steamed broccoli/carrots,smoothered in sauce of olive oil, parsley, onion, garlic, cilantra, nut. yeast, drink-water w/cherry juice.
Breakfast-ezekiel bun(sprounted wheat) toasted w/ghee, cinnimon sugar, coffee sweetened w/maple syrup(learned this on this site) Haven't had lunch yet but plan on eating Japanese for dinner tonight(Valentines Day)
My problem seems to be breakfast! I've stopped buying the crunchy type oat cereal (musesli but crunchy) because of it being a processed cereal. But I really miss my morning cereal and soya milk. I cannot abide 'sloppy' cereals eg oatmeal, and hate the smell of heated milk even more. So, I've been having perhaps an egg on toasted spelt bread or toast and honey or goats cheese and bread. Any ideas???
Sassy - Hope you enjoy your meal tonight, this morning my husband asked me todays date, I said it was Valentines Day, he replied without even looking up 'Darling, you're my valentine every day'. I had to smile!!
Janet, the oatmeal I use is mixed w/water(1/2 cup). I boil the water on the stove and then pour it over the oatmeal. I had a good cereal and now can't remember the name or seem to find it in the store anymore. If I come up with it I will let you know. I go thru spells with the cereal. I eat it for a while and then get tired of it and skip it for a week or two.
Janet - have you tried slow cook oatmeal? Not sure what is available to you... We get an Irish imported oatmeal (McCann's). It's not crunchy like your dry cereals, but the length of time you cook it will determine how moist it is - just cook it longer for a drier cereal. Slow cook oatmeal has tons more texture than the instant stuff.
Also, another idea... get the slow cook stuff, cook a batch of it up, let it cool to room temp. Chop up some nuts, and mix the cooked oatmeal with the nuts, some seeds (pumpkin are great for this), raisins (or other chopped dried fruit), and some uncooked instant oatmeal. Stir it all up, then spread out on a cookie sheet and bake for ~20 minutes or so in a 300 degree oven. You'll have a home made crunchy cereal/granola!
This can also be done with cooked kasha (buckwheat groats) in place of the slow cook oatmeal.
Hey guys, I've been doing this about a month now and I still feel like I'm eating too much and not really seeing any weight loss. Have any of you lost weight and how long did it take you to see any results. I read on another thread that Dr. D said "A's" would either be quite slim or plump. I'm afraid I am one of the plump one with a great desire to be a slim one for the latter part of my life since I have been struggling with the weight issue for the first part of my life. Do any of you have any recommendations on sweetners for coffee and tea. Is honey ok or is it too sweet? I really enjoy seeing what everyone else is eating so I can compare. Taylo
Taylo - if you are trying to lose weight, you shouldn't be using any added sweeteners.
Honey and maple syrup may be a more natural type of sugar and thus 'healthier' to use. But as far as caloric and nutritional value they are little different from table sugar.

Thanks Sandra, I'm trying not to use any sweetners but sometimes I really need something for the green teas. I havn't quite gotten used to it without anything in it yet. Lola, I will try to find the vegetable glycerine and try that. I'm sure the WFS will have it. Have any of you tried Deflect to help you lose weight? and if you have did it work for you. I'm thinking about trying it but I don't like taking pills for losing weight. But I'm thinking that maybe I need that to get rid of the lectins that have been there for awhile. I can't seem to job em lose with anything else. Taylo

deflect will help restore your gut from the past damage, yes, but it s not a weight loss pill.)
try ghee also for your gut flora, when using fat for cooking or other.

Janet, people have been giving you sloppy cereal ideas, but have you tried 'cooking' plain oats in a saucepan for 5 minutes or so, stirring all the time so that it doesn't burn, possibly with a tiny bit of oil, then letting it cool and adding your own choice of chopped dried fruits and nuts, nutritional yeast, kelp, calcium powder, whatever takes your fancy. Then serve it with stewed fruit of your choice, and moistened with soy milk, oat or rice milk, or yoghurt? You can set up the basic dry product in a quantity suitable to last you for a week or a fortnight. Sometimes when I get bored with that I just have an egg on toast, or fruit with yoghurt, or even some left over food from last night. Jenny

Oh Jenny, I'm from ear to ear - you really heard what I was asking. I'm certainly going to try doing that with the oats. Yes, I sometimes have an egg on toast/ cheese and beetroot is nice too. So, again THANKYOU!!

Jenny,
Thank you for this recipe idea. I went looking for some crunchy oat cereal today and every single one at Trader Joe's had sugar as the second ingredient! What if I don't want sugar and also don't want wheat? I guess I'm out of luck with the store bought, unless someone else has any ideas?
Hey, guys, went to the doctor for check up and had lost 3 1/2 lbs. I was really thrilled but I still think I am eating too many calories. I quit using sweet n low and splenda and not putting the honey in my tea. I am drinking it with no sweetner since I tried to get some vegatable glycerin and was told it was used for cosmetics. I didn't buy it woudl but have since learned it is also a sweetner. Will be making a trip to WF soon and will get some then. Does anyone know is decaffienated green tea is still as beneficial as the kind with caffeine? I'm still trying to make a few changes to my portions, hope my next visit will be better. Taylo
Unless you are really bothered by the caffeine I would recommend that you drink regular green tea.
I have read some reports, but don't know if they are valid, that decaffeinated tea is not as health promoting as regular green tea. I don't know if it is something that the decaffeination process adds or takes away from the tea that is the issue.
I'm glad to hear that you are off the artificial sweeteners.

I've also noticed somewhere in our books that regular coffee is better for As than decaf. Maybe something in the process of decaffeinating. Jenny (In fact I think I'll go and make a cup of real coffee now!! )

seems like Paul Schulick is to blame: these are two points of view on this subject.....

" Green tea - has anticancer effects. It has caffeine, but without the caffeine it doesn't have the same effects".
Does this mean that decaffeinated green tea is ineffective?
Quoted Text
The statement concerning green tea and caffeine is incorrect. The anticancer effects of green tea is due to Polyphenols and Gallocatechins. This is well documented and beyond doubt. Studies in these compounds, and on decafienated green tea has shown significant anticancer effects.

I usually only have a protein shake, is this bad. Should I add more food. I have my shake about 30 minutes after waking (6:30am) and I'm finde untill about 10 am when I have my delicious grapefruit (love them). Lunch is at 1pm with either a mixed salad with some protein either nuts or small amout of fish or legumes. If I don't have the salad I will have lentil/or other soup purered with plenty of different vegtables. I have enough to make sure I'm satisfied. I don't snack between meals. I drink plenty of water and green tea all day long, and I know am trying to chew my food (20-30 times) and make sure it is well liquified before swallowing. Dinner is usally at 6pm and this is when I may pick on certain foods (not always good!) I find it hard to sit down and enjoy dinner after leaving work driving in traffic picking up my son at daycare preparing dinner rushing through dinner to take my son to either karate or swimming or soccer etc. I just find the evenings so overwelming that it's hard to focus on eating properly sometimes and actually enjoying what you eat. I am trying--and I have lost 10 lbs in the last 10 days. I do make time to exercise after everyone is in bed. I have incorporated some tia chi and I love it. I have always found it hard to lose weight, do have an underactive thyroid so I have to try extra hard. I used to eat constanley at one time, always thinking about food and what my next meal was going to be. I think I have finally controlled my eating, but am I eating the right amout of food and enough protein? I tried going all veg but I think I do better with a little animal protein as Don pointed out on a previous post. I did do the Lemonaid Fast for 4 days and found it did really help to keep me on this track. Sorry if this post is a little long. I think it's time to get to bed as it's getting late for me. Good night all.
