Fibrocystic Breast Disease


Description:Loss of AB antigen expression in the breast appears to be a consistent marker of the benign proliferative duct lesions associated with fibrocystic disease. The early loss of AB antigen supports a possible link between fibrocystic disease and breast cancer. However, in contrast to other tissues, loss of AB antigen expression in proliferative breast lesions is not necessarily evidence of malignancy. (1)
