“An amazing new discovery enables people to fight off viruses, bacteria and other disease causing germs.”
Sounds like a cheesy infomercial at 1 am in the morning doesn’t it?
Believe it or not, all of us have the ability to do just that.
When you exercise your body temperature rises due to the use of muscles. When you use enough muscles for long enough you actually produce enough heat to fight off pathogens! A pseudo fever is created that doesn’t make you feel bad and is actually beneficial. You also sweat which releases unwanted toxins too!
Your body temperature can get up to 103 degrees which can kill pathogens that want to harm us.
So get up off of your rump and start fighting illness with a little locomotion.
Note: This idea is courtesy of my Gross Anatomy class which gave me the idea when we were talking about muscles and heat production.
My education is paying off already!
For the last 3 years I have been taking undergraduate classes so I can get into Palmer College of Chiropractic.
I received my official acceptance letter today!
Yes, I’m going to be a Chiropractor! In another 4 years I will be able to make a huge difference in people’s lives!
I will also be able to help people another way by introducing them to the BTD concept. That is going to be an awesome combination.
About four years ago I met Dr. Todd Hubbard at Palmer College of Chiropractic. He seemed like a good guy and since we were about the same age we developed a very good patient / Doctor relationship. As time went on with my care I was always asking questions that he was always more than happy to answer. Then one day after one of my questions he stopped, looked at me thoughtfully and told me that none of his students ever ask him these types of questions and that questions I would ask him were really good questions. I thought to myself “wow, this guy has seen how many students over the last ten years and none of them are asking what I think are normal questions?”
He would later give me 2 more compliments and tell me that I should get in the DC Program to get into the research department. The type of ideas and questions I was having really made an impression on him and really gave me something to think about.
Three years later, here I am. I start on July 12th and it’s going to be a crazy ride!
If you’ve never been miserable when your Occipital, C1 or C2 is out, you really won’t understand. When you are that miserable and you’re shoving 2000 milligrams of Ibuprophen down your throat just to get through the day, things are bad. I can see why some people might just want to end it because the pain is so bad. That was me 6 years ago.
I probably haven’t mentioned it per se, but I have been having Chiropractic problems since 1992. More recently, it has been a lot to handle.
I have gotten better and my wife even noticed my personality change back to the more laid back “Tom” when my upper cervicals are not killing me. My T1, T2 area has also been a struggle.
Last week my normal Chiropractor at Palmer College of Chiropractic went on a mini vacation. I ended up with a different Doctor who was not used to me. He couldn’t adjust my Occipital last Wednesday which prompted him to go and look my most recent X-rays. When I saw him on Friday he wanted to know if anyone had ever gone over my X-Rays with me. I told him I had been given a brief idea of what was on them but nothing else.
As it turns out, I have some Arthritis in my spine, particularly in the lower cervical region and T1, T2 region.
Ok, now that I’m done feeling sorry for myself I can bring you to the title of this blog. The Lucky Number Seven is the seventh health protocol that Dr. D’Adamo has created. Number seven is for Arthritis.
Since I’m Blood Type O, here’s my protocol:
BLOOD GROUP O
1. N-acetyl glucosamine, 250-500 mg: 3-4 capsules, daily, away from food
2. Frankincense (Boswellia serrata), 500 mg: 1-2 capsules with meals
3. Deflect O (Lectin blocking formula): 2 capsules between meals
4. Sprouted Food Supplement (Live Cell O): 2 capsules daily
GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS USABLE BY ALL GROUPS
1. Green Drink (Harmonia Deluxe): 1 Tbsp daily in juice or water.
2. NOTES: Fish oil should not be taken by women who are or could
become pregnant. Consult your physician first.
3. Niacinamide (Niacin) is almost always safe to take, though rare
liver problems have occurred at amounts in excess of 1,000 mg per day.
4. Phloxicin (NAP joint formula)
I’m going to shift the focus of my supplements to the above Protocol and look at this as a long term investment. I don’t want to be “a cripple” when I’m 60!
I do exercise 4 to 6 days a week. I run 3 times on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. I do specialized core and back exercises on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. As long as I keep up the regiment I should stay flexible and in shape.
I was lying in bed the other night and was almost asleep when I had the sudden urge to figure out my orientation in the house. After I came out of the grogginess and figured it out, I went back in time to the other two houses I’ve lived in over the last 20 years I was a little surprised. When I’m at home, I have always slept with my feet facing either North or South. I already knew I always slept nearest to the bedroom door so to have this new revelation was another confirmation that: You might be a nonnie if...
If you think you might be a nonnie there is a thread dedicated to us. So if you haven’t read any of it yet, here’s the link:
(Think of the Oscar Mayer jingle and the words almost fit.)
I’m a nonnie and my first name, it’s: Th o-m-a-s
I’m a nonnie and my second name is: Mar t-e-n-s
Oh, I love to Eat Right for My Type
And if you ask me why I’ll say.....
Dr. D’Adamo has a way....
With Blood Types O, B, AB, and Type A
It has been my observation that a lot of the new people being introduced to Eating Right for their Type have a disproportionate
number of “Why” questions. I believe that the GenoType book and Swami Software do not tell a good enough story of why foods are to be avoided and provide “real life” examples how those nasty Lectins do what they do.
Those of us who grew up on Eat Right for Your Type and Live Right for Your Type - already had a good background for the afore mentioned GenoType and Swami diets.
I remember reading the Eat Right book and seeing myself as being the person described in the book. I really understood “why” I needed to change. It wasn’t the scary prospect of getting cancer, heart disease or many of the other more serious diseases. It was understanding what lectins were, the symptoms they created, the simple mechanics of lectins and what to expect once you eliminated them.
I get the feeling that many new people are overwhelmed with the GenoType and Swami diets because of the implied seriousness the newer versions that the Blood Type Diet present.
If you are new and feel overwhelmed or just don’t “get it” yet, read the book that started it all: Eat Right 4 Your Type.
What supplements are you supposed to take and which are the most important?
This can be a tough choice if you have many health issues to address or money is a concern.
Based upon my personal experience and the recommendations made by Dr. D’Adamo in his health protocols; I would have to say that the Blood Type specific Probiotics are it.
The core part of your immune system comes from your lower digestive system or your “gut.” All of that bacterium is in a somewhat delicate balance and can easily be disrupted by eating the wrong foods or taking antibiotics when you get sick.
If you are getting sick often; having problems with diaherria or even something more serious like battling cancer; the Blood Type specific Probiotics are the difference makers! If you were undecided before; you now have a solid choice.
