My dear Deborah: I don't want to ruin your day, but a Certified IAQ/Mold Inspector will not "identify" types of mold visually, and will be carefull to identify any smell by the nose. He will test other areas of your envrionment to see where the possible mold contamination has spread,ie.(HVAC SYSTEM), and will do other instrument testing to determine water sources and how those leaks will have affected the relative humidity. I would dare to guess that you hired a home inspector not a cert. mold inspector. There is a differEnce in training, expertice and results or ultimate air quality solutions offered. See my new book, "Can Your CANARY Breathe? where this and more is discussed in detail. Not just problems, but real solutions are emphasised. Good hunting. Richard, NORMI Certified IAQ/Mold Inspector. Owner, Enviro-Clean Living, Bessemer City, NC
