Keyword(s): use of protocols
I was wanting to use the self testing kits on my 2 yr old and 5 mth old, are they suitable for use on these ages? Does one simply prick the skin to obtain the blood or is there a tool provided with the kit? Thanks for your help. Alana
The typing kit ships with a tool that does the puncture. Typically in children we would not do a finger prick, but rather a heel stick:
Since there are far less nerve endings on the heel, and better chances of getting a 'good bleed.'
What can a type B with high cholesterol do to help lower it? I have been on your diet for 3 years and find it helps, but recent blood tests show higher than normal chol. count. I've increased oatmeal, lecithin and also exercise! Please advise, Susan
Take a look at the Cardiovascular protocols for type B. I've used pantethine quite effectively in several type B patients who had elevated cholesterol but were otherwise in good shape.
My blood is O+ and I'm getting fantastic results using ERYT. Can you fully define what you mean by vegetarian. I noticed that Type A are allowed chicken and fish. Is it bad for Type A's to be completely vegan? -Gregory
Blood group A secretor individuals can often do a vegan type diet very successfully, non-secretors less so. Often type A's initially do better with a modified plant based diet that does include some fish or other animal protein because of underlying problems not directly related to the BTD, such as hypoglycemia, which in time sort them selves out, allowing eventually for a more exclusively plant based diet.
I enjoyed reading your book many times. My question is that I am A type with a family history of prostate cancer. How can I not eat tomato products? Now I know why I have lifted weights for 20 years and not gained much muscle mass. -Ivan
Here is a good link on getting lycopene without the tomatoes. Hope it helps.
I'd like to ask your advice. My husband is 44 years old. He's had two total knee replacements on the same knee during this year. After both surgeries he lost his gained range of motion because of excessive scar tissue growth. Yesterday he had manipulation under anesthesia to have his stiff knee bent and scar tissue torn by the doctor. Could you recommend something in terms of supplements or diet to make his scar tissue more flexible allowing the knee to bend? Thanks in advance - Kate
Bromelain, an enzyme from pineapple stems, contains an enzyme called escharase that could help with minimizing scar tissue. I've also used a product called Deep 91 on more superficial type scars, but I suspect that it does penetrate somewhat deeper.
Dear Dr D, I truely hope that this gets to you and that you have the time to respond. We (my daughter and I), have just recently found the site and are jumping with joy because we have had pieces of a day or two where our systems did not feel as if they were exploding. We are both type O and are in the process of the secretor test. My question: my daughter, when she was younger got hepatitis from some bad food at a restaurant, she is now 19 and 6 months ago got mono. This has been a very long haul to achieve some sort of recovery at all. She is 5'5 and 110-115, and very athletic. We have been through many Dr.s who all say it will just take time, some say 2-3 years. I am lost when it comes to the right suppliments and cannot quite fit her into one of the protocol systems you have set up. I appreciate any input that you have time to give, Debi
Have your daughter drink 2 cups of licorice root tea daily, best taken around 11AM and 3PM. Almost any of the health food store brands are fine. At the same time have her eat something that is type O friendly and high in potassium, such as good quality meat or fish. Have her follow the type O diet for her secretor type and give this a month or so. Let me know how things work out.
