I'm a musician (I play flute). I even compose when the spirit moves. When I read that about Mozart I was initially astonished, but then after musing a while, I realized the wisdom in it. Amateurs cannot add their own interpretation to the piece because they're so busy getting notes right and counting each measure. I can see how it would be helpful to hear the "raw" music you wrote rather than listening in frustration as the accomplished players lengthen or shorten or stress certain notes according to how they feel.

"Figured out how to control my slide show from an iPhone, which is very cool. I should be able to pace around the room and use the iPhone to cue the next slide."

So glad to read this, I'll let Jeff know.. he was stressing over you having to lecture for 9 hours in June, he kept thinking about all those slides.
He asked me a few times, who was going to change the slides for you?
He would have gladly done it, as long as he got a bathroom break.
