Glad you and your son were not injured seriously. I am guessing that you didn't file a complaint with the store, and that they didn't have reason to fear that you might sue.

Hi Lorraine,
My youngest (O) asked me for 2 years to take karate. I finally gave in, thinking he really wanted it and would stick with it. The belts are from white, blue, high blue, yellow high yellow, green high green, red, brown, and black. My son made it as far as high green and then decided he didn't want to participate anymore. He said he was tired of getting beat up all the time. I was pretty annoyed with him because he was so close to getting his black belt..! Maybe he would have liked Tae kwan do better..

My older son (B) never had any interest.

Hi Diana, I've not tried Kung Fu, but my ex used to be into it and loved it. Aikido is about using your attackers strength and attitude against them, in good aidido there is very little of the showy 'movie moves' and even Steven Seagal is a bit 'flamboyant' in movies and less so if you see him doing a demonstration, it's something I've always loved. Not that I'm particularly good at it lol but it did teach me about self discipline, falling lol and also about the value of meditation even from a young age :-)

Do your boys take part in any martial arts?

That is so great that your dad is in martial arts! I've always loved martial arts. My favorite when I was younger was kung fu, because it seemed a lot easier for a woman to do than karate which required strength. The training was also more structured to me. I never had the chance to check out Aikido or Taekwando as they appeared later in my area.

Hi Sista, I think you'll just love the Wii, and if your boys are like mine, they'll get competitive over it and want to beat everyone else with either high scores or better fitness levels.

I have really enjoyed the yoga moves and been pleasantly surprised at how flexible I was :-)

Let me know if you get one, it's worth every penny, no gym memberships, no queue to use a machine and no need to even go out if you don't want to ;-)

See you on the forums x
