EV Uh Oh
I was watching TV last week and came across a show on grilling. The host was grilling hamburgers and was using Evoo to coat the grilling surface and brushed some of the Evoo on the burgers to add some flavor.
Since Evoo is good for Type O's and my SWAMI, I thought I would give it a try. To my surprise the Evoo had a rather unpleasant reaction to my digestive tract, causing me to have some diarrhea. I thought the first day was a fluke since I started feeling a little sick. When it continued for the next 2 days and then stopped when I discontinued the Evoo, I knew what the culprit was.
This is just another example of individuality when it comes to ERFYT, GenoType and SWAMI.
Tweaks in your diet are to be expected. You are an individual.
Ugh.....My Liver
If you’ve ever wondered if an “avoid” really bothers you or not, keep reading.
This has happened in the past once before but that didn’t stop me from testing my liver one more time. You see, my wife has been complaining that when we go out to eat the food I choose always costs more because I “special order” to comply with ERFYT. I always counter with the fact that I only order water to drink which offsets the increased cost of my meals. Well last week I finally had enough of her complaining and decided to order a raspberry iced tea with my meal just to see if she would say anything. The tea tasted wonderful and went down easy….too easy…so easy I ordered a second. I of course drank the second raspberry tea all too easily too.
After our meal we did some driving around and in about 30 minutes I started getting some sharp liver pains. This lasted for about 20 minutes. This episode gave me a flashback to about 5 years ago when on a very hot day at work we were treated to Gatorade. I thought at the time I could “cheat” a little since I had been following ERFYT for so long. I drank 3 bottles of grape flavor Gatorade- and they tasted soooo good…but within about 30 minutes I started having sharp liver pains that lasted 20-30 minutes. Back then I realized the corn syrup in the Gatorade was causing me all this grief and I learned that once you have been following ERFYT for awhile, you can really discern when certain foods or beverages do not agree with you.
My little experiment didn’t quite go as expected but gave me even more conviction that Dr. D’Adamo is the man.
I'm Hungry!
Recently, things have gotten tight financially because of the “training wage” I have earning with my new job for the last 2 months. The trail mix and burgers I have become accustomed to have had to give way to processed turkey and beef bologna sandwich slices.
Besides the obvious avoids in the processed meats another irritating side effect is the hunger created because I am not giving my body the necessary protein it needs or is accustomed to. I’m an O Non Secretor and I require more protein to feel satisfied. The turkey only keeps the hunger at bay for an hour and I don’t function well when I’m hungry and unsatisfied. I eat a lot more and have cravings for other avoids because of it.
Luckily this is only a temporary phenomenon for me. For those of you out there that might not be following ERFYT as closely as you need to, this might give you some insight as to why you are always hungry and or cannot lose weight or be satisfied after meals. Your body knows what it needs and if you don’t give it what it wants, it will find alternative ways to make up the difference at your overall (health) expense.
Everything happens for a reason
After about 6 months of trying to find a decent paying job, I finally landed with Terminix. Pest control is something I've always been on top of with my own home(s) so it seemed like an easy fit when the opportunity came my way. I get to meet new people every day and some of them are more than willing to share their health concerns with me as I treat their home. I of course have taken this opportunity to mention ERFYT as a way to help with their particular problem.
Everything happens for a reason, you just need to grasp opportunity when you get the chance. ![]()
Promoting ERFYT once again
This past weekend I promoted ERFYT at a local event. The weather could have been better but I still managed to speak to 30-40 people. Luckily I was inside and didn't have to deal with the rain.
The principle of the school and the CEO of the school came by my booth and I was more than happy to explain the basics of ERFYT to the both of them. The CEO was Blood Type O and was having some stomach issues. After asking a few questions I found out she was eating a lot of beans on the avoid list for O's which was a surprise to her since she had not put the two together. Since I was at a school for troubled teens, I did mention how following ERFYT and avoiding wheat, breads and pastas, Corn and dairy could make the difference for certain kids with behavioral issues. Hope fully she will contact me to talk with her some more.
I met another woman who also was Blood Type O having some digestive issues. She did mention that when she tried to eat meat it never seemed to sit well with her. I asked to see her fingerprints and what do you know... Horizontal lines all over the place. I instructed her that the lines meant her gut bacteria were not happy and that the lines were a physical manifestation of that distress. I suggested Blood Type Probiotics and the Type O Diet to give her some relief.
All in all is was a slow but steady flow of people and I am glad to have had the opportunity to promote ERFYT and hopefully help a few people to get healthier.
