When I quit work to go to school I didn’t take into consideration the change in my level of activity during my everyday life. Slowly but surely my weight has creeped up and now I’m at 200 lbs! Keep in mind that during normal winter months, my weight would go up from 184-187 lbs to 192-196 lbs due to the cold weather. Once springtime comes around the weight would normally ease its way back down. This time though, I don’t think that’s going to happen. Sitting in a classroom and using your brain simply does not burn the calories being on your feet and doing manual labor all day does. Even though I ran 3 times a week all winter and also included core exercises, it still didn’t add up to the same exertion of working everyday.
So to all of you out there who are having difficulty with those last 5 or 10 pounds and can’t figure out what could be the key, you just might need that little extra level of activity to find your ideal weight.
Oh yes, being a nonnie probably doesn’t help either...
