Stone Root, Levothyroxin and Type O
Hi, I was wondering if Stone Root would interfere with my thyroid medicine. I'm type O. I'd like to take it dor my sinuses. Thanks!
Collinsonia, commonly called "stone root," works by reducing the swelling in certain kinds of tissues. It's as effective for hemmorrhoids as it is for sinus headaches! Part of its action is astringent, part diuretic, while it strengthens mucous membranes and venous walls.
It absolutely will not interfere with your medication. Happily, there is no known toxicity level ~~ so trying a higher dosage is safe, and might alleviate those headaches to a greater degree.
Be especially careful to avoid even small amounts of wheat and dairy, both well-known causes of sinus trouble in type O. If you tend to wake up feeling phlegmy, try some hot water with the juice from half a lemon in the morning. And add some light, spicy sauces to your summer meals -- hot peppers are good for Os and can stimulate the mucus to get on out of there. Staying away completely from wheat and corn can help normalize your thyroid function over time, as well. If possible, order the Deflect-O supplement from the store on this site. It does a great cleaning job on old, lectin-occupied hormone receptors, and supports joint and colon health.
Hope you're feeling better soon!
