About Chanur
I am a 39 year old AB secretor married to an O. We have an A secretor son living with us. Over on the BTD Forum I am known as Chanur. We have a pet cat. Her name is Dusty, but she is called just about everything except that (nicknames, not obscenities - she is really a very good kitty). I was born in Louisville, Kentucky and have lived and traveled all over the USA and Canada. Currently, we reside in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.
The reason I wanted to blog is because I had a very hard time learning this diet (well, I feel as if I am still learning it actually, and that’s a good thing) and would like to help others find their way with it because it has done very nice things for me. For example: I have, so far, shed 57 lbs (a little over 25 kilos) since I first started BTD-ing and I know I will continue to lose until I reach the goal decided upon by my naturopath and myself, provided I stick with what I have learned since begining this way of life back in February of 2003. When I don’t play by BTD rules, I get sick. If I still don’t repent and change my ways I find myself even sicker plus gaining the weight back. I rarely ever stray from it any more though. Cheating only cheats myself and the pleasure it might bring is not worth the price of how horrible I would feel afterwards.
Food has always been very important to me. So important to me in fact that I chose to make it my career. To that end I earned an AOS in Culinary Arts and another AOS in Hospitality & Restaurant Management. My interest in food introduced me to world-wide travel. My favorite trip, to date, was to the Culinary Olympics in October of 2000. After the Culinary Olympics in Erfurt, Germany, I got to see Beaune, Dijon, and Paris, France. I no longer pursue a culinary career because of a birth defect that no longer allows me the physical stamina that is required in a kitchen where the food is made primarily from scratch, rather than simply reheated as it comes out of a freezer on its way to someone’s plate. My current job title is that of Purchasing Assistant at a local culinary school...it keeps me busy and abreast of what is going on in the field. It is probably for the best that I am no longer a direct part of the restaurant industry because now whenever I do any cooking to help out friends all I see is that I am preparing foods that are of such mixed ingredients as to be an avoid almost every time for every blood type...to do that on a regular basis would really give me a major guilt trip. As I hope you have guessed, I do try to tell people about this way of eating, but that is all any of us can do is tell people...we cannot make the believe it or force them to follow it. That is how it should be, I would not want to be told that I could no longer follow this lifestyle.
Other interests of mine (in no particular order) include: fencing (prefer epee), motorcycle riding, reading, gardening, travel, assorted arts and crafts, going to the beach, and almost anything out of doors (hiking, canoeing, camping, etc.), listening to music, attending live theater and concerts, languages, history, and watching old movies.
Thanks for reading my bio!
