Someday it will warm up again!
February 27th, 2007 , by adminOur current cold spell continues this week with no let up in sight yet. The state’s low temperature on Saturday was -54 degrees at Fort Yukon, and for Sunday, it was -53 at Chandalar! Sure glad is wasn’t so cold here, although it has been several degrees below zero every night for quite a while. We also hit 10 hours between sunup and sunset this week.
Tonight we should get a good display of the aurora. I’ll be checking again outside before I go to bed. So often the northern lights are not visible until the middle of the night and quite truthfully, I’d rather get my rest than get up to watch them. Sometimes we do get to see them around 10 pm or so, and that is what I am hoping for tonight.
Tonight’s dinner was so good. We had roast leg of lamb, brown rice with veggies, and sautéed spinach. While the roast was in the oven I baked some birdie bread for my birds. It smelled so good while it was baking! It is certainly wholesome, but with all the crumbled egg shells in it, I guess I will just leave it for the birds. At least I make up a couple loaves of spelt/oat bread for us to enjoy during the week, too.
Sometimes it is very frustrating helping or attempting to help some people. This week a woman was distressed because every time she eats grains, she notices that her candida flares up again. So I wrote to her and asked if she was a blood type O because I noticed that I have no candida problems since I don’t eat a lot of grains. If one was to follow the US Pyramid plan, they would eat 5-9 servings a day of grains! WOW! I don’t get that much in a whole week! Anyway, she wrote back that yes, she was an O, BUT she doesn’t believe in the blood type diet and that she is sure she will find some way to eat her grains and not worsen the candida! Some people just don’t want to be inconvenienced to do what their bodies’ request. Who knows, maybe someday she will realize that the grains are not doing her any real good.

hey ich habe gerade eine sehr aufschlussreiche Sendung via Bayrischem (denkt nur ich gucke Bayern) :-))
Fernsehen mir reingepfiffen und muss sagen, haaallloooo ich denke wir alle müssen nochmals über die Bücher und auffwachen; und zwar warum???..... wusstet Ihr ,dass in den Staaten, wie auch in Europa
körperbehinderte und sogenannte gentechnisch nachgewiesene Erkrankte immer mehr ausgegrenzt werden
und zwar nicht nur gesellschaftlich, sondern auch versicherungstechnisch?? Ich habe nicht gewusst, dass diese Menschen ausgegrenzt werden von Vorsorgeerbringung, Unfallversicherungen und vielen anderen versicherungstechnischen Errungenschaften!!! D. h. sie können sich normal einer Krankenversicherung anschliessen aber gerade für ihre Erkrankung, wie z.B. Mukoviszidose werden keinerlei Leistungen erbracht werden; und das ist doch der Hauptteil den es eigentlich abzudecken gilt!!
Uebrigens wurde auch behauptet MS sei eher *familiär* bedingt, jedoch nicht genetisch nachweisbar!
Also dann sind wir, die *Royals* genauso gefährdet, sogar eher noch als der *Mob* :-) sorry war spassig gemeint, wir sind natürlich der *roayle Mob* :-))) in eine solche Kategorie reinzufallen als
Otto Normalverbraucher :-( finde ich vielleicht garnicht witzig...hää?!
Und stellt Euch vor....so bekloppt sind Einige von diesen *Weisskitteln* präventiv die Empfehlung auszusprechen, dass genetisch Prädestinierte (meist Frauen) sich vorab die Brust oder Brüste abnehmen lassen sollen...HEY.....gooot's noch ?????? :-(( und stellt Euch vor, es wird wirklich praktiziert und sogar
für *gut geheissen*!!!!! Wobei in einem Atemzuge es klargestellt sein soll, dass es ja noch nichteinmal bewiesen ist, dass diese Erkrankungen wirklich entwickelt werden müssen oder überhaupt in Erscheinung treten werden!!!!! Also meine lieben Madls, Frauen, Fraueles, Fräuleins, Mädchens und co....sobald Ihr das hier gelesen habt- stellt Euch endlich auf die Hinterhaxeln und tut was....nicht nur alles im Köpsche belassen....richtig tun.....:-)
Also manchmal überfällt mich doch dieses dumpfe Gefühl es könnte ein Racheakt der Dreibeiners sein, oder ????? .....sorry dass ich das so klar ausspreche- aber seid doch endlich Euch auch mal bewusst, dass es wirklich nichts Persönliches gegen Euch ist, nicht einmal der *Penisneid* ist wahrhaftig! Also ich kenne kein weibliches Geschöpf die mit diesen Dingen auf die Welt kommen möchte :-)
Die Genforschung ist ein riesiger, unglaublich gewinnträchtiger Markt, hauptsächlich von den *Herrn der Schöpfung* ausgebaut, habe nix dagegen, sie kann eben auch ganz was Positives erbringen in Form von
Medikamententests, und sogar deren Vertäglichkeit ist dann messbar (auch mit dem Vegatester :-))
Aber ich denke, dass hinsichtlich eines weiteren guten Zusammanlebens mit alten Menschen und auch
behinderten Menschen, es hier aber absolut keinen Spielraum gibt und auch sich nicht ergeben sollte in Zukunft, um Zwietracht zwischen jungen Erwachsenen und Behinderten und alten Menschen, zu sähen,
weder in politischer, sozialer noch zwischenmenschlichem Bereich. Da nützt auch kein religiöses Geklüngel
noch Ambitionen zwecks Weltherrschaftsansprüche...und zwar von keiner Religion, denn hier sind andere
Kriterien relevant, als das, was in den Vordergrund dringt!
Es ist unglaublich wie frech und schamlos die Naturheilkundler aller Couleurs ausgegrenzt werden mit der
Behauptung (wiedermal Couchpin) dass eine 5-jährige Studie bewiesen hätte, dass Alles aus dieser Richtung nichts bringt; sogar Prävention hier deutlich nichts erbracht hätte!!!
Gerne würde ich über die angewaendeten Parameter mehr erfahren; aber eben ....:-(
Tja, immernoch steht für mich die Frage offen was ist hier wirklich relevant.....
Mind over Genes, mind over backpain etc...oder gerade umgekehrt? Oder sogar vice-versa?? oder grad beides zusammen??!! I just want to make it short, so it won't be that boring for you what I've to point out today :-)
I just have seen a TV program from the bavarian channel that showed up, that mostly none of the
disabled persons round the whole world are able to go for securities for the futur, nor good insurances in question of life, sickness or whatsoever..... nor that those persons tested in genetic defects and prooven that they are carrier of those genes, will have any right chance in their lifes to be recognized in their needs of insuranced help.
Here the discussion was also about the sickness of MS, which isn't prooven as a genetic defect, but merely a *familiar* one.... tell me the difference here...please :-(
We are popping trendily into the scenes of*preventivly amputations of female breasts'*....some of the whitecoated are just recommending it (as a new method??) to so called *possible positive marked women* I think here we should take care not to come back into extending behaviours of "prematured
therapeutical lacks".....of the years 38-45.....sorry it is really meant as I write this!!
So far I only can yell to all females, take care about yourselves and don't believe all what this *medical industries* try to make you believe.....
I must point out here, too, that we, the *royals* might be also get caught by such intimident facts,
because we are that succeptible to several sickness, as Peter mentioned it; and that is scarrying me a bit. Not because of the fact to be a nonnie; but the fact to get discriminated because of that fact that
I might be a non-profitable, invalued, stubborn,naturopathic-convinced member of this society.
So the gentech has its good and secure sides, and also its very black shadow......

A delightful outing
February 19th, 2007 , by adminThe fog hanging over the area this morning dissipated and the day became bright and shiny. The temperature was in the teens so we decided to take a drive down to Homer to really enjoy the sunshine. The roads were fairly clear and ice-free most of the way so driving was easy.
Shadeaux, our puppy, came along with us and once down at Homer and on the spit, she was able to explore. Oh my! There is so much to do, see, and smell down by the ocean. Of course, the parking lot was mostly glare ice, but that only slowed me down. She was quite able to scamper across the ice to explore something just over there. Shadeaux was kept close to us via her leash because there are so many eagles in the area we didn’t want her to become eagle bait.
We did see a couple groups of eagles flying in search of food or just for the fun of being airborne in the clear and sunny sky. We only saw about 30 eagles perched anywhere today. Although there is still quite a bit of snow, they are off in search of mice, shrews, rabbits or whatever else might make a tasty meal other than the fish found around the spit.
One of the advantages of winter is that there are no leaves on the trees. I guess I can say that because spruce trees have needles instead of leaves. Anyway, with the lack of leaves we were able to see several eagles’ nests on our outing. It is hard to understand why they choose to build (and then add on every year) in old cottonwood trees. Those trees and their heavy limbs aren’t as sturdy as they look. But, I guess that if those are about the only trees to build on, then there may not be much choice.
There were fresh moose tracks in abundance through several areas. We saw four yearling moose, another one’s hide beside the road from a roadkill, and one cow moose today. At one spot, there were two yearlings trotting across a frozen lake. Near the road kill area we saw a mother moose and a yearling as they strolled about 20 feet off the highway. The last moose was another calf busily munching on some willow branches.
Speaking of moose! A couple morning’s ago, I looked outside towards the big dogs’ fenced in yard to see that the primary post (steel) and the fencing from there to beyond the next fence stake was down. Apparently, a moose must have gotten irritated with the dogs’ barking as she was traveling down the path and she took a detour into their yard to let them know she wasn’t happy. She must have been close to fully jumping the six foot fence but apparently her hind legs caught the top of the fence causing the steel posts and fencing to bend nearly to the ground. The dogs were unhurt and most likely stayed in their houses for protection. They didn’t come out until my husband brought them their breakfasts.
Currently, I am on a three day break from taking those T-3 pills. My daytime temperature is staying about three-tenths of a degree higher than it was before I started with the program. My temp still did not quite reach 98.6 during the month, but hopefully it will this next month although it may not until the third month if all goes well. One thing I certainly notice it that I feel more alert than I have in a very long time. I truly hope this therapy is as effective for me as it is for most people.
Tonight’s dinner was baked halibut caught down near Homer last summer. Along with that we had steamed sweet potatoes and my super salad with my delicious dressing! It was a delicious meal. Last night’s dinner was a seven bean soup with carrots, onions, and red cabbage. That is one of the few recipes that I really follow because I don’t think I can improve on it. Of course, everything was organic too, which makes it even better.

Too busy to slow down
February 14th, 2007 , by adminI am thoroughly enjoying the weather this past week or so. The temperature has been in the twenties during the day and then drops down to the single digits during the night. We have only gotten a little more snow this past week, so for the most part, the roads are in good condition. The parking lots are a bit slippery, however.
Tomorrow we will see 9 hours of daylight again! Yeah! This morning the sun rose at 8:52 a.m. and sat at 5:47 p.m. Tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 8:49 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:50 p.m. There is a chance of snow for tomorrow and for the rest of the week, but maybe it will be just a light flurry. The state’s high temperature for yesterday was 43 degrees at Annette and the low temperature was -35 degrees at Beaver. That is a temperature variation of 78 degrees.
The Iron Dog Race is currently going on for this 2,000 mile race of snow machines. My son-in-law’s good friend is one of them racing and usually does quite well. Another rider is the “First Dude” aka known as the husband of our new governor. He is another one who also does very well each year. This year they will travel from just above Wasilla to Nome and then on to Fairbanks. As long as this race is, they will still be primarily in the interior of Alaska.
I have been spending a lot of time combining the proper foods for the animals. The parrots are enjoying their birdie bread and sprouted grains with soaked beans combined with a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and topped with a fig and a couple nuts. The dogs really enjoy the fresh meats, especially the turkey legs or beef ribs. Occasionally they also get some of our good leftovers, too. The puppy thinks she has to eat some of my fruit such as a banana or apple in addition. The cat still thinks anything that isn’t kibble must be poison so she is staying quite plump and somewhat irritated with me for attempting to give her something more nutritious and certainly more natural.
Next week I am going to start a 3 ½ month long course on homeopathy. I am really looking forward to it as I have used many homeopathic remedies over the years very successfully. Now I want to understand it a bit better. I am also taking an herbology course. Alternative medicine has always intrigued me. I think that is partially why I so enjoy the EFT and studying all I can about nutrition. It seems that a good part of what I do is connected to health and healing.
My jewelry designing has slowed down a bit as the bursitis and the trigger finger make it a bit more difficult, but it hasn’t stopped me yet. I still get a thrill when something I create is sold. The stones I buy are chosen with a great deal of care. Putting the earrings or necklaces together takes quite a bit of time trying to come up with the design that will show the beads off to their best. I enjoy being able to be so creative.
Two very different areas of interest. I am not sure how they relate to each other yet each give me a lot of satisfaction. Then again, so does helping in the community. I have never been satisfied just doing or learning one thing at a time. Even though I have gotten older, there is still much to be learned and mastered or enjoyed. Boredom is just not my thing.

February 10th, 2007 , by adminI was at work this week when a fellow co-worker, also an A+ like me, was telling me about how she ate a banana that morning. I told her that while bananas are full of great nutrients, they are not good for type As and showed her the Typebase page. Next thing you know, the entire rx staff was checking out the page and bashing the idea that red meat was bad for them and how could this fruit be bad, etc? It dawned on me once again that before attempting to teach anyone about fine-tuning their diet based on blood group, you have to start with the basics. BABY STEPS. Common sense!
The first baby step is to teach people to eat naturally. After all the initial banana commotion wore down as I tried to explain the lectin concept, I stopped myself short and said, "hey, it's like this... if you are starving and you only have a choice between eating a banana and eating a candy bar or trans fat-filled cookie, by all means, EAT THE BANANA!"
People have grown completely out of touch with their bodies. So much emotional snacking takes place. Why are people still looking at that bag of potato chips and letting it have so much power over them?
I have come to the realization that the best advice to give to anyone trying to optimize their health is to first and foremost eat foods that are alive. And to eat foods that are laced with love. Remember that chicken noodle soup mom made for you when you were sick at home with a cold? The energy of love was passed on through the food to your belly. Love and life are what make our bodies and souls beautiful when it all comes down to the nitty gritty.
This past month, in preparation for some serious spring exertion, I've been taking Floradix. I'm really intrigued to see how this affects my menstrual cycle and my energy levels. I've been trying so hard to get my cycle more in sync with the moon. For some reason, my cycle keeps extending out to 33 days. While most MDs would consider this normal, I view this as a sign that I either have an excess of estrogen stored in my system that is prolonging my menses, or it means I am deficient in some nutrient, or both. So, for now, it seems that perhaps lack of iron is the culprit. As a red meat avoider, Floradix is a great way to build the blood. I love being able to tell patients about this stuff actually. It sure beats ferrous sulfate!!!!
That's all for now. Gotta get back to things around the abode. It's above ten degrees today here in Sunny Minnesota. That calls for some celebration!

Vitamin D- The Sunshine Vitamin
Forms: Two forms available in supplements
Cholecalciferol-Vit D3
Cholecalciferol is the naturally occurring form of vitamin D. Photosynthesis of 7-dehydrocholesterol in human skin occurs when it is struck by uv-b rays of sunlight (290-305 nm with highest concentration at 297 nm). ‘Pre-Vitamin D” tachysterol and lumisterol are formed in ratio depending on the exact mix of wave lengths and relative strengths of rays during exposure. Pre-Vit D is than isomerised to Vit D3 by body heat in the hours after exposure.
It is important to remember that the wrong sun (mostly uv-a rays) can be just as damaging to vit D as the right sun can be producing.
It is nessesary to have some saturated fat in your diet. Bone marrow fat and dairy fats are best to make the cholesterol that gets converted to D3. A person who has a diet too high in polyunsaturated fat and not enough saturated fat will be more apt to burn in the sun (which cuts down on the Vit D produced)
Skin D cannot be overdosed since the body has mechanisms to regulate it. Oral D can be
Calcidiol: 25(OH)D or 25D
Calcidiol (25-hydroxy vitamin D) is a prehormone in your blood that is directly made from cholecalciferol. When being tested for vitamin D deficiency, calcidiol is the blood test that is drawn.
Calcitriol: 1,25(OH)2D3or 1,25D3
Calcitriol (1,25-dihydroxy vitamin D) is made from calcidiol in the kidneys and in tissues and is the most potent steroid hormone derived from cholecalciferol, as well as the most potent steroid in the human body. Calcitriol has signifigant anti-cancer activity.
The liver and kidney help convert Vitamin D to the form best utilized by the body (D3). Once vitamin D is produced in the skin or consumed in food, it requires chemical conversion in the liver and kidney to form 1,25 dihydroxyvitamin D, the physiologically active form of vitamin D. Active vitamin D functions as a hormone because it sends a message to the intestines to increase the absorption of calcium and phosphorus. Because of this hormone status it is necessary to have a well functioning thyroid for conversion
The major biologic function of vitamin D:
- maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus
- By promoting calcium absorption, vitamin D helps to form and maintain strong bones.
- Works in concert with a number of other vitamins, minerals, and hormones to promote bone mineralization. Without vitamin D, bones can become thin, brittle, or misshapen. Vitamin D sufficiency prevents rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults, two forms of skeletal diseases that weaken bones
- Helps to maintain a healthy immune system and help regulate cell growth and differentiation.
- Inhibit cancer cells from growing and makes those cells grow and die more like natural cells.
- inhibits the formation of excessive blood vessel growth around the cancerous tumor
- Strong correlation between sunlight and serotonin production in brain
- Increase in circulating endorphins after UVB exposure (but not UVA)
- Involved in brain function due to nuclear receptors for vitamin D being localized in neurons and glial cells. Plus genes encoding the enzymes involved in the metabolism of the vit D hormone are also expressed in brain cells.
- The reported biological effects of Calcitriol in the nervous system include the biosynthesis of neurotrophic factors and at least one enzyme involved in neurotransmitter synthesis.
- Calcitriol can also inhibit the synthesis of inducible nitric oxide syntheses and increase glutathione levels, suggesting a role for the hormone in brain detoxification pathways.
- Neuroprotective and immunomodulatory effects of this hormone have been noted several experimental models. Thus could be helpful in neurodegenerative and neuroimmune diseases.

Summary
Alterations in monoaminergic neurotransmission in the brain are thought to underlie seasonal variations in mood, behaviour, and affective disorders. We took blood samples from internal jugular veins in 101 healthy men, to assess the relation between concentration of serotonin metabolite in these samples and weather conditions and season. We showed that turnover of serotonin by the brain was lowest in winter (p=0•013). Moreover, the rate of production of serotonin by the brain was directly related to the prevailing duration of bright sunlight (r=0•294, p=0•010), and rose rapidly with increased luminosity. Our findings are further evidence for the notion that changes in release of serotonin by the brain underlie mood seasonality and seasonal affective disorder.

Repeated methamphetamine (METH) administration to animals can result in long-lasting decreases in brain dopamine (DA) and serotonin (5-HT) content. Calcitriol, the active metabolite of vitamin D, has potent effects on brain cells, both in vitro and in vivo, including the ability to upregulate trophic factors and protect against various lesions. The present experiments were designed to examine the ability of calcitriol to protect against METH-induced reductions in striatal and nucleus accumbens levels of DA and 5-HT. Male Fischer-344 rats were administered vehicle or calcitriol (1 microg/kg, s.c.) once a day for eight consecutive days. After the seventh day of treatment the animals were given METH (5 mg/kg, s.c.) or saline four times in 1 day at 2-h intervals. Seven days later the striata and accumbens were harvested from the animals for high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis of monoamines and metabolites. In animals treated with vehicle and METH, there were significant reductions in DA, 5-HT, and their metabolites in both the striatum and accumbens. In animals treated with calcitriol and METH, the magnitude of the METH-induced reductions in DA, 5-HT, and metabolites was substantially and significantly attenuated. The calcitriol treatments did not reduce the hyperthermia associated with multiple injections of METH, indicating that the neuroprotective effects of calcitriol are not due to the prevention of increases in body temperature. These results suggest that calcitriol can provide significant protection against the DA- and 5-HT-depleting effects of neurotoxic doses of METH.

Quick Facts (From Vit D Council):
• Recent studies by Heaney et al conclude healthy men utilize between 3,000–5,000 IU of cholecalciferol a day, mostly from stores made by the summer sun. .
• In 2003, Gomez recently produced evidence that excessive secretion of the parathyroid gland, known as secondary hyperparathyroidism, is almost nonexistent when 25(OH)D levels exceed 30 ng/mL (requiring 3,000 IU of D a day).Vieth cited six studies that concluded, if the aim is to keep parathyroid hormone concentrations low, 25(OH)D levels should exceed 28 ng/mL (70 nmol/L).
• Heaney and his colleagues recently showed that calcium absorption increases as 25(OH)D blood levels increase. With blood levels of 34 ng/mL (equivalent to about 3,000 IU/day total intake), calcium absorption was 65% higher than when levels are 20 ng/mL. This implies that part of the reason humans need to take so much extra calcium is because there is widespread deficiency of vitamin D. when speaking of 25(OH)D blood levels, the authors were blunt, "We conclude that the lower end of the current reference range is set too low."
• Blood pressure is reduced significantly by ultraviolet radiation comparable to about oral intake of 3,000 IU of vitamin D a day but blood pressure is not routinely reduced by small amounts of vitamin D.
• Daily doses of 2,500 IU of vitamin D helped rheumatoid arthritis but small amounts did not.
• Infants receiving 2,000 IU a vitamin D a day were almost fully protected (relative risk 0.12) from developing type 1 diabetes 30 years later.
• 5,000 IU of vitamin D a day, along with calcium and magnesium, decreased the relapse rate in multiple sclerosis patients. Multiple sclerosis is rare around the equator.
• To our knowledge, all studies of vitamin D and fractures demonstrate reduced fracture rates, as long as 25(OH)D levels increased to more than 40 ng/mL after treatment.
• Breast milk (nature's perfect food) is deficient in vitamin D. Does this mean Paleolithic humans were supposed to expose their young to the sun (and thus to predators)? Hollis recently discovered that breast-feeding mothers need 4,000 units of vitamin D a day to sustain themselves and their infant. 2,000 units a day was not effective. Another week

Another week has passed! Time just seems to be flying by. Guess that comes with being busy. I am involved with so many activities from being president of our local Crime Stoppers to taking care of all the indoor animals to studying homeopathy and herbology. I know a lot of my quest for knowledge comes from my granddaughter’s best friend fighting leukemia. Oh, I have always enjoyed learning and especially things that are related to health, but now there is an intensity that I don’t always have.
I surprised myself today. Computers and the various programs continue to be a mystery to me. A few days ago I decided to listen to some music I had managed to download on the computer. Unfortunately, the only song I was able to come up was three parrots singing the Tropicana song. So today I decided to try again and I accomplished something I had always wanted to do. For some reason the songs keep playing from the four CDs I had downloaded but not in any order. The songs jump from one CD to another and they keep going. It has been playing now for about three hours! I sure wish I knew what I did for it to work the way I wanted it to because I would like for it to happen again. I am almost tempted to leave the computer on all night so I can hear the songs again tomorrow. Now it has played four songs in a row from my “Above All” CD.
I have been talking to some people on a list I am part of about the blood type diets. They have been fussing about eating red meats and not feeling good afterwards (most likely not an O) while others are complaining about chicken giving them problems (probably a
and so on. I couldn’t pass up telling them to check out this site. Why should people remain oblivious to a very helpful aid?
Yesterday was my sixtieth birthday. Sixty sure seemed old a few years ago. Now, with all that I have done and am doing for my health, I don’t feel so old. I am still taking the T-3 pills twice a day and my body temperature is slowly creeping upwards to near normal. In fact, on two occasions within the past couple weeks my temperature has reached 98.4! Hopefully before the three months are up, it will reach and stray at 98.6 without any medication.
Doing just one thing at a time has always been very difficult for me. So, even though I realize that the T-3 program should get my metabolism going so I should be able to lose weight, I decided to use grapefruit juice daily as a weight loss help. Well, now I have managed to lose six pounds since the 18th of January which is when I started with the T-3 and about the time I added the grapefruit juice. Now, I really don’t know which might have helped the most, but I am not giving up either possibility right now.
We have had a few really gorgeous days this past week or so. The temperatures have moderated and during the day it is usually in the twenties. That is especially nice because it has been sunny too. Usually when it is sunny during this time of winter the temperatures are very cold.
Shadeaux, our poodle puppy, went to her first obedience training session last week. All the other dogs seemed really big compared to her. Once she got somewhat accustomed to the goings on, she did fairly well. She enjoyed going through the tunnel best of all. She is to be clicker trained and now that I have found her clicker I can start working with her again. She knew where I set it down and grabbed it to chew on. My husband realized what she had done and took it away from her. I forgot where I had hid it from her until today.
Tonight’s dinner was ground elk and onions with a spelt gravy poured over brown rice. In addition we also had some organic steamed broccoli. After the birthday bash from last night we needed a lighter dinner tonight.

How I Sank my Teeth into the Black-Stain Mystery and Finally Put my Finger on the Culprit
February 6th, 2007 , by adminAbout a year ago, soon after beginning the Blood Type Diet, I found myself eating a lot more fresh produce than I had been, especially fruit. I also began to notice that even though I rinsed my hands thoroughly, the juice was staining my fingers. Apples seemed to be the worst offenders, perhaps because I generally keep the apple in my hand while I munch away, and the juice invariably gets all over the hand. The stains became worse over time. Eventually, I had what seemed to be permanent black stains under the tips of my fingernails and in the creases around the edges of the nails, plus relatively frequent temporary stains on my palms and fingers.
What really puzzled me was that I had gone through periods of high produce consumption before with no such stains. When we lived in Southern California, Hubby and I would come back from the Farmer’s Market with two canvas tote bags full of goodies, every week.
A few months ago, following Dr. D’s advice for A’s with “tired blood,” I began taking Floravital (the wheat-free version of his actual recommendation, Floradix). I soon began noticing gray stains on my teeth. Rinsing my mouth immediately after taking the Floravital helped somewhat, but like the black stains on my fingers, the gray stains on my teeth became worse over time. I took to scrubbing them with baking soda before any social engagements. That, too, helped somewhat, but I was sorely tempted to stop smiling and wear gloves.
The turning point came when I noticed that my teeth were also developing a yellow stain. Now, my teeth have always had a yellowish tinge (as a pale friend of mine puts it, “Blond people have blond teeth”) – but this was way more than a tinge, plus it had a creepy iridescence. Picture a car that comes in “Tawny Pearl” and you’ll have the picture.
Fortunately, we had already noticed the Tawny Pearl stain on our dishes, beginning shortly after we moved here a couple of years ago, and blamed it on the iron in our well water. We had been meaning to get a water softener, but hadn’t gotten around to it. About the same time that I noticed the iron stain on my teeth, the plumber told us we’d better get a softener right away if we wanted to avoid major problems with our water heater. We had him install it about six weeks ago, and guess what? No more stains on my fingers. The stains on my teeth are a bit more tenacious, but they’re fading, so I’m comfortable smiling in public again.
I guess the moral of the story is that problems often have more than one cause. When I didn’t eat apples for a while, my finger stains lightened up even while the water still had iron in it. And the stains have completely gone away now, even though I’m still eating apples. The stains apparently require the combination of fruit juice and iron.
This sort of synergy can make it tricky to figure out what’s causing what – trying one thing at a time may not work. That’s when it’s really important to keep one’s antennas fully extended, and consider all possible clues. Come to think of it, that’s good advice any time.

nach dem Maul reden oder...oder...oder.....oder......denn wir müssen niemandem gefallen.....wer uns mit 100 Pfund nicht liebt und respektiert und akzeptiert- wird es auch nicht mit 50 oder 150 Pfündlein.......:-)

also nachdem wir ja laufend an board über irgendwelche Weh-wehchens klagen, z.T.
für alle die interessiert sind weiterzukommen und nicht immer die gleichen Wiederholungstäter zu spielen,
sei's bewusst oder unbewusst.....hier chömmt der Schlüssel zu Euren "ichles" und warum eben laufend Wahlwiederholungen sich abspielen...soooooo lange bis Ihr es rausgefunden habt und dann bewusst eine Veränderung herbeiführt; nur um dies bewerkstelligen zu können, sollte man die notwendigen Hintergrundsinformationen haben :-) und somit erspart Ihr Euch einen Haufen Kosten an Therapeuten,
geschweigedenn einen Psychater...diese brauchen auch nur sich selbst :-) chuckle....und auch dann können diessich nicht mehr zusammenflicken nachdem sie sich anal ysiert haben....denn durch Festlegungen wirds' auch nicht besser- man lässt sich nur weitere Hintertürchen offen.
Bitte geht davon aus, dass es sich zum Teil um Raster und Muster aus unserer Kindheit handelt, Grundmuster fürsich selbst stehen, dann gibts' hierbei noch eine rechte oder linke Seite oder auch Flügel benannt,(d.h. Mischtypus) und diese Grundmuster haben sich verfestigt aufdass jeder von uns überleben konnte, ergo sind hier Ueberlebensstrategien angebracht, aber auch Gewohnheiten und hierbei auch nicht immer die besten, wir rutschen auch häufig darauf aus :-)
Der gesamte Text wird jedoch nur in kurzen Abhandlungen eines jeden einzelnen Typus und seiner Ent-
wicklungsmöglichkeiten und Grundsätzen beschrieben; bitte nehmt auch zur Kenntnis, dass jeder Mensch alle Punkte des Enneagrams insich trägt......und hierbei handelt es sich um neun Typologien......

after haven chatted about our achso beloved lamentations, I thought that it would be neccessary for all who wanted to do a step forwards instead of getting clocked by their incrusted realities....for all who are interested in speeding up their consciousness about their *self* and to stop because of unconsci-
ousess repeating behaviours and of course this leads to an enorm part of saving you money, instead of believing what therapist's or psychatrist's try to make you believe,to assure their incomes :-) ....chuckle....so I allow myselve today to get you introduce into *the wisdom of the enneagram* basicly it relays upon C.G.Jungs works and I think he is much nearer the *truth* what ever this might be...than other *inventors* of lifestories....... all the texts will only be held in shortened forms and should point out everybody's possibilities of developments....please take notice that all humans do bear the whole enneagram in him/herself......nine different typologies' ......

DIE NEUN LEIDENSCHAFTEN :
hier ist gemeint die Repräsentation von neun Arten wie jeder seine Mitte verlieren kann und wir in unserem Denken,Fühlen und Handeln in die Irre geleitet werden!
1.ZORN- auf diese Leidenschaft träfe besser die Bezeichnung Groll zu, da Zorn eigentlich keinerlei Problem darstellt.Einsen unterdrücken ihren Zorn,was dazu führt, dass sie mit sich selbst und der Welt dauernd unzufrieden sind.
2.STOLZ - mit Stolz ist die Unfähigkeit oder der Unwille zur Anerkennung des eigenen Leids gemeint.Zweier wollen anderen
3.TAEUSCHUNG- mit Täuschung ist gemeint,dass wir uns einreden,unser kleines Ego wäre das Wichtigste.Wenn wir das glauben,richten wir nicht unsere Bemühungen auf die Entfaltung unserer wahren Natur.Wir können diese Leidenschaft auch Eitelkeit nennen, den Versuch,das Ego aufzuwer-
ten, ohne uns unseren spirituellen Wurzeln zuzuwenden.
4.NEID- Neid beruht auf dem Gefühl,dass einem etwas Grundlegendes fehlt.Er bringt Vieren dazu zu glau-
ben,andere hätten Vorzüge,die ihnen selbst abhanden gekommen sind. Vieren befüchten etwas zu ver -
passen, und merken dabei nicht, wieviele Segnungen ihnen schon zuteil wurde.
5.GEIZ- Fünfen glauben, dass sie über knappe innere Rücklagen verfügen und eine zu intensive Auseinandersetzung mit anderen sie ihres letzten Halts beraubt. Diese Leidenschaft bringt 5-er dazu,sich vor der Welt zurückzuziehen.Sie schrauben ihre Bedürfnisse zurück und klammern sich an Altbewähres.
6.ANGST- auf diese Leidenschaft träfe besser die Bezeichnung Aengstlichkeit zu,da es eigentlich darum geht,dass man sich fürchtet, ohne einen konkreten Anlass dazu zu haben. 6-er machen sich um zukünf-
tige Ereignisse Sorgen und trauen nichts und niemandem so schnell über den Weg.
7.GIER- mit Gier ist das Bedürfnis, möglichst viel zu erleben,gemeint. 7-er versuchen das Gefühl innerer Leere dadurch zu überwinden,dass sie sich aufregender Gedanken und Aktivitäten zuwenden.Sie können
aber nie genug davon bekommen.
8.WOLLUST- hier ist nicht die sexuelle Lust gemeint; 8ter sind insofern wollüstig,als sie dauernd von einem Bedürfnis nach Intensität,Selbstbehauptung und Macht angetrieben werden.Alles soll nach ihrem Willen gehen-auch wenn dabei manchmal die Fetzen fliegen.
9.TRAEGHEIT- Trägheit darf nicht mit Faulheit verwechselt werden,da 9er auch aktiv und erfolgreich sein können.Bei der Trägheit geht es um den Wunsch, in Ruhe gelassen zu werden,Das ist der Unwille,aus sich herauszugehen und sich dem Leben voll und ganz zu stellen.
THE NINE PASSIONS:
the Passions represent the nine main ways that we lose our center and become distored in our thinking,
feeling and doing.
1.ANGER - this passion might be more accurately described as Resentment.Anger in itself is not the problem,but in Ones the anger repressed,leading to continual frustration and dissatisfaction with themselves and with the world.
2.PRIDE -pride refers to an inability or unwillingness to acknowledge one's own suffering.Twos deny many of their own needs while attempting to *help* others. This Passion could also be described as Vainglory-
-pride in ones own virtue.
3.DECEIT- Deceit means deceiving ourselves into believing that we are only the ego self.When we believe this,we put our efforts into developing our egos, instead of our true nature. We could also call this passion Vanity,our attempt to make the ego feel valuable without turning to our spiritual source.
4.ENVY- Envy is based on the feeling that something fundamental is missing.Envy leads Fours to feel
that others possess qualities that they lack.Fours long for what is absent but often fail to notice the many blessings in their lives.
5.AVARICE- Fives feel that they lack inner resources and that too much interactions with others will lead to catastrophic depletion. This Passion leads Fives to withold themselves from contact with the world.
Thus they hold on their resources and minimizes their needs.
6.FEAR- This Passion might be more accurately described as Anxiety, because anxiety leads us to be afraid of things that are not actually happening now. Sixes walk around in a constant state of apprehension and worry about possible future events.
7.GLUTTONY- Gluttony refers to the insatiable desire to *fill oneself up* with experiences.Sevens attempt to overcome feeling of inner emptyness by pursuing a variety of positive, stimulating ideas and activities, but they never feel that they have enough.
8.LUST- Lust doesn't only refer to sexual lust,Eights are *lusty* in that they are driven by a constant need for intensity,control, and self-extention. Lust causes Eights to try to push everything in their lives
-to assert themselves willfully.
9.SLOTH- Sloth doesn't simply mean laziness,since Nines can be quite active and accomplished.Rather,it refers to a desire to be unaffected by life. It is an unwillingness to arise with the fullness of one's vitality to fully engage with life.
