Usually, I like to comment on Peter D's posts but this time after reading about the University of Bridgeport presentation, I'm sitting with my mouth open and in a daze. Every once in a while, Peter leaves me in this dumbfounded state.
Glad to hear about Martha's second degree black belt and loved that photo on the "current disease care system and how it bumps up against Waddington's concept of an 'Epigenetic Landscape'". Well it was the scenery mostly, not the dry sense of humor although I 'got it'.
I think I'll stick to mentioning my latest attention to BEANS. I wrote a post about it on my healthybody nyc blog last night and thought I would pass on the info.
Beans have a special health effect as lentils, peanuts, pinto and soy beans possess cancer fighting lectins. I am encouraged to have beans 6-9 times a week(3 cup portion size). The frequency is scaled up a bit since I had breast cancer nine years ago.
Pinto beans and basmati rice with garlic and olive oil is one of my favorite dishes but 3 cups, 6-9 times a week!!
PS-Peter, are you sure that there's no typo on the number 3 as in cups? You want me to have 3 cups of beans 6-9 times weekly? Are you serious?
