Happy colon!
Yesterday I decided to have a colonic for the first time!
Back when I visited Dr. D in 2004, he was telling me that colonics are incredibly effective for migraines so it was time to give it a whirl. Uh, whoa, no pun intended. Don't even go there, or you'll get some visuals!
It wasn't as pleasant of an experience as I thought it would be but I think it's going to help tremendously. Whenever a gas pocket gets hit, some cramping occurs. I have a very sensitive colon so the process wasn't as smooth as it could have been but overall, the colon therapist said that my colon is in fairly good shape and that four sessions max should clear me up (versus someone with not a very good diet who would need at least five sessions to get any results!).
After it was over, since all I'd eaten that day was an apple, I was famished! I went next door to the Ecopolitan for some good vegan grub. I just couldn't justify putting junk into my body after getting the junk out, you know? I ordered a custom salad with all sorts of great stuff: garlic tahini dressing, beets, cukes, baby greens, avocado, and yum and yum and yum! I scarfed that thing down like I was going out of style! Famished!
Later, I went to a work meeting and there was some food there because McKesson is going to be our new wholesaler and they wanted to welcome us to their world in style while teaching us the tricks to their ordering system (there really weren't any "tricks" as it's a very straight-forward, user-friendly system, but still, it helped to have the primer). Sure, there were fruits and veggies, but then also some wraps (I got the veggie ones) and some desserts. Oh, chocolate, how I love thee! Forgive me dear colon for I have just sinned against you so soon!
Today I had a pleasantly easy day at work. It's amazing how switching jobs has made my life so much more pleasant in general! Going from a for-profit to not-for-profit environment really is a 180. An ex-colleague of mine who used to manage one of the stores at an old location also found a new job. When her new coworkers asked where she came from, they asked if she had needed a shrink to deal with the stress there. And they weren't kidding. Yes, from going from one place to another and comparing, I now know that I was not just hallucinating. It really was just steps away from sweat-shop.
Having a flex-spending account with a debit card is also super cool. It makes going to the chiropractor so much easier on the bank account!
