Goatmeal!!!
I decided to open up the Joy of Cooking today and also a couple of weeks ago to make the old-fashioned oatmeal w/spices for Grubster and me. I subtracted one-half cup of oats and replaced them with buckwheat. I bought a quart of goat milk and decided to use some of it in place of water. Grubster was not so hot on the goatmeal concept. He doesn't quite understand why I can't use cow milk like the rest of the world. I've been trying to explain to him the fact that the milk protein is better assimilated by the human body than that of cow milk but he still think that goat milk sort of stinks. Well, it does.
However, the goatmeal turned out quite nice tonight. Pure maple syrup rounded out the plump raisins and cinnamon and nutmeg for me (avoid for Os). It was yummy in our tummies!
Speaking of yummy....a new bakery opened up near my new neighborhood called Yum! Deli and Bakery. And lemme tell ya, it is AWESOME!
We are currently watching Rx for Survival, narrated by Brad Pitt on public television. I'm trying to stock up on as much herbal remedy for the upcoming flu season...elderberry extract, etc. All you can do is be prepared. Worry is inefficient.
I've been doing much work around the house with Oram Miller and electrical mitigation whiz Kent Haugan who have already worked to reduce the magnetic fields in my house. Their next step is to reduce the electrical fields around the house primarily when I sleep. Most of us cannot reach stage 4 (non-REM) deep sleep because we are bombarded with electrical currents all night long. I really think this is the key to better health, more important to spend money on than any other thing we could do including diet and exercise. I'm so eager to learn more about building biology!!
Again, check out this website if you haven't already and find a building biologist near you!

Hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving!
