Super Slow Superbowl Sunday
February 1st, 2004 , by adminThis is one of those Sundays where I didn’t have anything planned that I really needed or wanted to do. So, naturally, I have been fairly productive. Got the Sunday paper read with my forbidden cup of coffee. Ate some leftover lamb. Had a good aerobic workout on the stationary recumbent bike. (I'm listening to a Robert Ludlum book-on-tape while on the bike. Makes the time go much faster). Had a banana. Then I tackled about seven months worth of filing that had been building up on my desk. That is one of those tasks I always put off till after the last minute. Now, I’m just hanging around with a cup of green tea waiting to watch the Superbowl with the family. I actually have it recording on Tivo, because the husband and daughter are taking advantage of a break in the rainy weather and are out riding their motorcycles.
I bought a splurge item to munch on during the game. Since cutting way back on grains and starches, I have missed the crunchiness of chips. Got a bag of vegetable chips. They are taro, sweet potato and parsnip chips – quite compliant except for the canola oil they are cooked in. I may even put a beer in the fridge to have along with them. I am very neutral on the game this year. It will be fun just to watch the hoopla.
