more news on... Ketchup!
May 10th, 2002 , by adminKetchup Research:
Good Morning Heidi,
Shortly after I bought some Muir Glen Organic Ketchup for my sons a couple of months ago I found some Tree of Life Ketchup that appears to be even better for type Os. However, we haven't finished the Muir Glen Ketchup yet so we haven't tried the Tree of Life Ketchup to see if it is any good. I copied the ingredients from their website for you. Tree of Life Ketchup Ingredients: Organic tomato paste, water, organic apple cider vinegar, organic brown rice syrup, spices, sea salt. It would appear that type O ketchup lovers could eat all of this ketchup they want!
Tree of Life makes a couple of acceptable mustards too. Organic Stone Ground Mustard Ingredients: Organic apple cider vinegar, organic mustard seed, salt, citric acid, spices. Organic Yellow Mustard Ingredients: Organic apple cider vinegar, organic mustard seed, salt, turmeric, spices. By the way, have you tried the Pumpkorn brand dry roasted pumpkin seeds? They have 7 flavors. I really like 3 or 4 of them and my kids do too! My older son takes them to school for a healthy snack. Their web site can be found at www.coolfruits.com Thanks you for the all the great information you provide. Don
Don: thank YOU for the all the great information you provide! Folks, this is the man who brought you compliant ice cream, put sherbet back in TYPEbase3, and even reported a Dr. Pepper facility in Dublin, Texas using sugar instead of corn syrup. You gotta love this guy! ;-)
I haven't tried the Pumpkorn, but I'm glad your kids like them. I'm going to take your Tree of Life recommendations straight to my organic grocer's product manager. It will be a treat to get the jump on him with a new & better product... it happens so infrequently! The very thoroughgoing among us may wish to research whether the "citric acid" is derived from corn, and what the "spices" consist of... but this is clearly yet another change in the right direction!
The positive developments we're seeing in food products is directly related to the power of consumers in partnership with producers. The more clearly and frequently you express your desires, the more quickly compliant products show up on the shelves.
Keep it moving! and thanks again, Don!!
