Hi Hiedi, Thanks for the advice about increasing stomach acid for this slim type O. Muchly appreciated. There was one thing I forgot to add though. I've recently been plagued with a number of circular fungal patches on my legs(nowhere else). These have only really started since I've been erfyt and I was wondering what these could be and how to get rid of them. Any ideas?. They are not itchy, have no discharge, and are about the size of a soft drink bottle cap.
Also, if you recall from my last email, I mentioned that I was a biliary, connective tissue constitution. This constitutional description comes from an iridology analysis. Do you know if the doctor has looked into the validity of combining iridology analysis and blood type in order to further fine tune the diet to the individual, or even whether he considers the practice of iridology valid at all. It's a bit of ask I know, but any info you have would be appreciated. George T.
Hello, George! If you have some good raw oil daily, like cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil, and make sure to get a good serving of B vitamins from organ meats and/or nutritional yeast, those patches on your legs should disappear within a few days.
Yes, I noticed the iridological typing you mentioned. It's not a diagnostic that we have discussed much here, and while I do not know if it is used in Peter's practice, the blood type diet books don't refer to it ~ we focus on ABO and other polymorphisms determined through the blood and saliva tests. Hope this helps! and thank you for your note! :-)
Hi Heidi, I am sure that I already know the answer to this but by any chance have you found a protein bar that is actually good for B nonnies? My lifestyle can be a little hectic at times so I was wondering if you have any suggestions? Thanks! Nicole
Hey, Nicole! I haven't found a commercial brand that's good for Bs. However, at this point I'd be tempted to spend an hour in the kitchen some Saturday and make my own! Tell me what kind of bar flavor/texture/ingredients you'd like in general, and I'll come up with a couple of general recipe guidelines. I'm thinking that this kind of thing could be made like sheets of freezer cookies, and cut into squares or bars. It could be as simple as a combo of toasted cooked oatmeal or puffed rice, nuts and/or fruit, a capsule of PolyVite-B and Phytocal-B, spices as desired, some veg gly or nut butter to hold it together, and some kind of fondant for a coating (or not).
That's just my first gloss on how to do it. Cookies of this kind are simple to make, are very forgiving to the first-time baker, and you can do a month's supply in a snap. The shopping would be the hardest part! ;-D but you'd search longer to find a commercial product (and probably come up empty-handed), so I think we can save you time in the store, too!
Have you checked with the nonnie list? whole bunch of great chefs over there, from what I hear. Let me know if you're not a member and would like to join.
Companies like NAP agonize over getting the right formulas for bars because they have to first use all the best ingredients in the desired nutritional proportions, then figure out a process that will yield a product that withstands the horrors of shipping and storage and various heat and cold exposures, and stay fresh, and appeal to a wide market as well. It's darned near impossible, which is why the bars they've sold took so long to arrive and were ultimately both withdrawn. It's much easier for us! Let me know what you think! :-D
I have just bought the book 'Cook right for your type' and I am an AB Type. Regular coffee is listed as being beneficial, however whilst browsing on the site it was mentioned that coffee should be avoided. Which one is correct, should I or should I not avoid coffee??? Thanks. Rhona
Hello, Rhona ~ The latest information on food values can be found on this site by using the TYPEbase3 database. More on the food value changes between Cook Right and Live Right can be found on the Updates page. See the bottom of this column for reference areas you may want to explore. I hope this is helpful, and thanks for writing! :-)
