Hi Heidi, Thanks to Linda for the heads up on 5-HTP. One month's usage had no effect on me, good or ill, so it's history.
I'm doing "The Five Tibetan Rites." They've been simultaneously invigorating and relaxing. Leave it to the Tibetans to think up such an enigmatic exercise routine.
Something strange happened to me the day after my previous email to you. My craving for chocolate suddenly disappeared! Also, my daily espresso is no longer an absolute necessity. I still enjoy espresso and chocolate but I, very suddenly, lost my obsessive craving for them.
I had started taking a B complex supplement a few days before the change. Could the extra B vitamins account for the loss of cravings? Thanks again to you and Linda. Paul
Could extra B vitamins eliminate cravings? Most certainly, Paul! Amazing what a little this 'n' that can do, eh? Linda's note was most welcome, and is just a sample of the magnificent contributions of yon brilliant B contributors. :-)

On behalf of my husband and myself I would like to thank you for your great advice. No avoid meat and no bad fats has made a lot of difference.
The spots are already looking better. Almost gone in fact ! And just in a few days. Amazing ! I will still let him eat the supps you recommended once we get them in the mail. Thanks again ! /Carina (and Anders)

Dear Heidi, Just a couple of thoughts about the GB flush comments by Dianne.
After talking to Julie, Chinese herbalist, I faithfully took her GCG formula for 2 weeks, which is supposed to soften gallstones so the gallbladder rids itself of possible packed stones. I did a flush before the formula came, took the GCG for 2 weeks, then did a second flush.
First flush I used epsom salts (vile tasting for sure)etc. and produced a few good sized green stones. Second flush produced smaller particles and brownish in color. I ate homemade veg. soup with no fat, drank carrot juice and fruit juices before the flushes (following the schedule recommended). I noticed after the second flush, I didn't go to the bathroom until later in the day, then several times.
I have gotten rid of a constant upper backache. I'm taking 1/4th tsp of Chinese bitters (recommended by Julie) in half glass of water, on an empty stomach first thing in the morn., which helps the liver clean itself. Then I drink a BIG cup of green tea.
The thing I find most difficult is being patient. Afraid I want things done quickly and efficiently and it doesn't happen that easily. The thyroid balancing will really try my patience but I'm determined to follow thru with it.
I've always stayed away from dairy products (caused terrible stomach aches)and am slowly introducing them into my diet, especially yogurt. (Being B sec ) It's really difficult to find some without corn syrup. Luckily the HFS has two kinds without it. It appears I have to feel worse for a while to REALLY get better.
I've learned so much from letters on this web sight and am so grateful, thank you. Thank you for your comments on food combining. I've read lots on it and for myself find eating fruit by itself works for me. We eat salads, steamed veggies/meat together and eat all starches alone. I have noticed a difference and think these combos digests easier for us. (We never need antacids etc.) Cutting out all wheat has really helped us with weight loss.

I recall a doctor saying that it only takes 1/12th the time to resolve a problem as it took to create it in the first place. I think you're speeding along beautifully!! Take heart as the improvements come along, day by day. I've always found simple, steady improvements are the most marvelous and inspiring things. Every night as you go to bed, you can feel grateful that things will be even better tomorrow. ;-> A dear mentor of mine once said that life is all about "something to look forward to." That's something we can all create for ourselves, it's right within our grasp ~ and to know it and live it is such a greatly empowering state of mind.
