That sounds yummy! I want some!

And I think the proper French way to spell it would be Rice a l'Almond (rice is pronounced "ris"), le/la/l' means "the", and the a should have that accent thingie over it when it's by itself in a sentence like that. I'm pretty sure it translates to "rice with almonds" (Hey, I haven't taken French in over 20 years!)
Thanks Henriette! I did think a'lamand looked more French or Italian than Danish. I hope the recipe I found is more accurate than its title...not that it's traditional after my adjustments, but as long as it's not too sweet, I'm happy.

I have to admit I'd probably use real cream if it weren't for my milk allergic son ;) It seems quite creamy so far though! My husband picked up some frozen cherries for me, so I think I'll go put on the finishing touches.

Oh yeah we are having it for Christmas as always
- I must admit I make it with organic whipped cream ( nothing added)
but then again I think my fellow danish O type family members are less sensitive to dairy than other O types cause cream seems to be ok for them.
I know it isn´t ;)

I always cook the rice in water- and then add the whipped cream -that is fat enough for me but the almond milk version sounds really nice.

I forgot to harvest sour cherries - so I have to buy the cherry sauce this year.

By the way we calls it
Ris a la mande :-D

Enjoy
