I feel your pain. A regular excersize enthusiaste, I had convinced myself sometime ago that in addition to a vegan diet, I should "eat less, move more." The result was no energy (it hurt to work out), a sluggish thyroid and a constant bloated feeling,(not to mention about 25lbs extra). (Without suffient protein I couldn't keep my hands out of the cookie jar). Not worth the effort! Switching to a high protein diet balanced with plenty of fruit and veggies increased my energy and decreased my weight. As long as I eat slowly and chew well, I don't sweat a little extra food. I don't need to reach for refined carbs or sweets because I have enough energy to get to the next meal. Whew. Thought there was something wrong with me too!! I am type O..hear me roar! LOL...
