A good day, good stew and other ideas.
Today was good. The stew worked out well. I had to put it in bowls and refrigerate it last night, then put it back in the crock this morning. When it was done it wasn't so bright red, more orange, but the beets were my favorite part, they kind of flavored everything else, the turnips were good too. I'm not too sure about the celeriac, I'll cut it smaller and use less next time. Maybe I'll just use celery next time. So here's what I put in it: from what I can tell it's all beneficials and neutrals: 2 cans broth, 1 can tomato sauce, 1 or 2 pounds stew meat, 3 beets (eat the greens separately), 2 turnips, celery or 1/3 of a celeriac, 2 onions, 5-10 cloves garlic, Italian seasonings, bay leaf. Cook on low for about 8 hours.
I had two boiled eggs from yesterday for breakfast, and a little fruit. I'm finding I need to have some of my breakfast made the night before. I'm too used to the convenience of cereal, and with a little one, it's the hardest time to cook. Thanks for the tips!
I'm also finding that I need to drink more water. I've always had trouble with that. I'm putting it in a bottle so I can take it around with me from now on.
I also had a tip on what to put almond butter on: carrots! I bought some almond butter and was so excited to put it on apples until I realized O nonnies can't have apples! I used to mix in a little cocoa with it, no sugar, and that was good with apples, so maybe bananas or pears would work there? Almond butter is one of the few creamy foods we can have, so I've been pondering its uses.
Good night!
