We don't share the same body type, but I cannot stand low-rise pants either.

I have found most of the pants from a company called Christopher & Banks do not have the nasty low-rise - as long as they're not what this company calls "Modern Fit Jeans".

If they're not in your area, they do offer some of their things online here:

I am not in anyway affiliated with that company. Good luck!

We are all proportioned so differently and what looks great on one person does not look so great on another. If you like classic chino style khaki pants then LL Bean might have what you are looking for. They offer classic fit styles that sit on the waist that is if you don't mind using mail order companies.

As a side, I have small feet and prefer retro style sneakers, but I have to order them special. Anything that has a seam across the toe is uncomfortable and more modern styles make my small feet look to clunky.

Lee at Sears also have several different options. Natural waist, just below waist, high waist and low riders. I tried them all on and came out with a couple of different ones. Since I'm so short, just below waist really fit me well and is comfortable.

That's one thing I like about skirts- I can wear them with the waistband where I want, no matter where the designer had in mind. Sometimes this means sizing down.

My teenaged daughters like their skirts much lower than I wear mine. It's a generational thing. Most women my age prefer the higher waists.

We also do quite a bit of sewing. I make my clothes to fit where I want my waistband, and they make their clothes designed to be worn lower.
