Recently, my local grocery store began carrying ground bison for 7 dollars and 99 cents per pound. Considering that the beef that I usually buy is 599 per pound, this isnt all to bad. I actually just ate the ground bison with some eggs this morning. Has a hint of sweetness to it it's kind of strange but after a while you get used to it.

Suzanne,
I'm wondering why you cooked the steak in the oven? I buy ground buffalo at Whole Foods and grill it. I've also bought the buffalo stew meat and they told me to watch it closely because it cooks so much faster than beef. I grilled some buffalo burgers outside last night (first time for the grill this season up here in New England) and as usual I only cook the 1/4 pound burgers 3 minutes on a side on a hot gas grill and they are perfect.
