At least this is one piece of "one size fits all" advice that can't do any harm, and is likely to benefit a lot of people.

Looking at the various food lists in BTD and GTD, as well as people reporting on the foods they get in SWAMI (individualized, computer-generated diet plans), it seems that most people benefit greatly from removing wheat.

A few individuals do get wheat as super-foods, but even those people wouldn't be damaged if they swapped out wheat and replaced it with other whole grains from their food lists. They wouldn't benefit from the swap, but it wouldn't caus any damage.

The only people really hurt by this advice would be farmers who grow wheat. And, given enough warning, they could plant spelt instead.
