In Australia they served us pumpkin along with a roasted meat. It was a fresh pumpkin cut into huge chunks and roasted. Any roasted meat entree would arrive with a giant chunk of deep brown, almost black pumpkin. It was delicious. We'd just add salt and pepper and eat it along with the roast.
