I recently bought some prunes, cause I read they are also a good source of iron.....but I think I ate too many at one I will try again with 3 at a time.....thanks Suzanne for reminding me of them!
Oh and once a while back in a "gourmet" magazine, there was this delicious recipe for lamb braised for a long time with prunes, I may have to look that one up again, it was really special....:)

I have always loved prunes and keep a package of the bite sized ones in my pantry. They are great for all of the reasons you mentioned and they sure satisfy a sweet tooth!
