I have enjoyed your knee 'tangent' and learned a great deal.

I have similar problems and when I had the PT for my ACL surgery I found the exercises helped my other knee. Have you ever heard of meditaping? One of the other sites I visit (women's skiing site) discusses it. It has to do with patella tracking properly. Same symptoms though. When I sit for long periods and get up, up and especially down the stairs. It doesn't bother me too much to ski but afterwards on the stairs in the condo. Glad you've found some relief and you do have a son to be proud of!

I've enjoyed your knee columns as I was just diagnosed with the exact same problem in my left knee. The physical therapy I have been receiving sounds a lot like what your son has been having you do. Thanks for taking the time to write them!

I was diagnosed with similar. I have a slight leg length discrepancy. He said this has possibly resulted in the misalignment of my spine. He recommended against lifts for my shorter leg. He recommended exercises instead. I am weights (light); but now I will concentrate on the quads as well to see if it will help
