I hope your husband does well with his surgery. But even blood type A people must be careful with vitamin E. I would think that cornea surgery as compared to other surgeries ie. heart or hip replacement, would not be no where near as bloody.

My type A uncle had open heart surgery a few years ago and still had to have a blood transfusion even though he stopped the Vitamin E 10 days before surgery. Some Rx drugs given can still thin the blood. I'm sure the hospital will do some pre-op testing to see how well your husband clots.
